Harry Potter is a Theme Lately

So last week I watched the last Harry Potter movie on the television. I had already seen all the movies in the past (all in the theaters actually) but it reminded me that I haven't read the books much. So I started to read the books a little off and on. Today I pulled out behind two cars and eventually was stopped behind the one because of road construction. Lo and behold, it was Harry Potter! Well, okay, the car wasn't but the license plate read: "HRY POTR". I'd say that's definitely what it says. Kind of amusing pulling out behind that of all cars on my way to work, let alone having it be in this small rural area to begin with. That aside, another thought came to me. If Harry was born in 1980, and his battle at Hogwarts ended in 1997, then 19 years later would be this year. So this is the year young Albus and Rose go off to the school. Kind of interesting that we're that far along in the book series' timeline. Maybe to be relevant J.K. Rowling will give us a new book called "Harry Potter and the War on ISIS." They could be a group of dark wizards... you never know!

I think once or twice per movie was good enough for me. I just happened to watch what was on television that day. :D

I read all the Harry Potter books before I saw the movie versions. I've read there is a new Harry Potter booked based on a play coming out this July.

@OneOfMany I think it is called "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child." It is actually a play or based on a play.

Actually, you're off by a year. Yes, he was born in 1980, yes he started at Hogwarts in 1991, but think about how the school year works. His 7th year in school would've been 1997-98. The battle took place on May 2, 1998. Right now, his son James Sirius is in his first year, and Albus/Rose won't start their first year till September of next year, 2017.
