As we explored in my last post, covering a classic song is a difficult venture. "You're So Vain" was probably the most popular song Carly Simon has performed, so the Faster Pussycat remake was bold and daring.
"Any Way You Want It" was originally written by Steve Perry and Neil Schon from Journey and released in 1980 by Journey. While it was a popular tune for Journey, it is not what most people consider a signature song.
The song was covered by the American punk rock band Rise Against on their 2003 album, "Revolutions Per Minute". This album was released before Rise Against started to achieve mainstream success, but the album is a great listen anyways, as are most pre-mainstream albums by musicians. The song was repackaged on the 2013 compilation album "Long Forgotten Songs: B-Sides & Covers 2000–2013", which I also recommend to fans of cover songs and rare tracks.
With this cover, Rise Against managed to stay close to the original track, while infusing some extra energy into the song. They modernized this song and did a great job of accomplishing that feat.
(Note: If you choose to listen to it, the song starts out with a little "radio dial" noise. This is part of the song.)
Rise Against Anyway You want It.I know some of the lyrics are not right. This was my first time making a video with lyrics and I tried my best.I'll start taki...

Never heard that before, but I quite liked it. Like the Faster Pussycat, I bet these guys had a blast recording this.
