Into the Groovy #1 - "I Wanna be Adored"

The Stone Roses emerged out of that musical hotbed, Manchester, England (I've lost count of just how many great bands that city has produced.)
Their 1989 self-titled debut is one of my all-time favorite debut albums. Vocalist Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani, and drummer Reni (no last names necessary) put together a boffo record with a lot of groovy, danceable tracks, a few of which made the rotation of MTV's 120 Minutes.
"I Wanna be Adored," in particular, was a regular video on that show. It might not lean as far to the dance side of the album's other tunes, but damned if it's not the best song on the album.
It's a great song on a record full of them. I especially dig Squire's guitar play in this one.
Enjoy!

That's it, I'm unfollowing you.
Just kidding.
I liked the whole Madchester thing.
Actually, I just seem to like bands from Manchester. Can't explain it.

@Ronrybs - It's like some cities have it, and some cities don't.

The Stone Roses are a good one. I remember them getting heavy airplay on alternative radio. Another group to come out of Manchester's alternative scene along with Joy Division, The Happy Mondays etc.

I love both those bands. I have yet to hear a Manchester band I haven't liked. Factory Records is my all-time favorite label.

@JohnRoberts - That's right, they did, didn't they. I read a Factory book written by Tony Wilson. Apparently, he wanted to sign The Smith's but didn't because he knew they were going to be bigger than he could handle.
