Planning on using a tablet on mylot.

I'm using my laptop to make my discussions and interactions here in myLot almost all of the time. I've tried using my phone- which only have a 4.5" screen - and I find it quite difficult. The laptop that I'm using now, though is owned by the company I'm working for. However, I have already tendered my resignation which should have taken effect last February 29. They just ask me to extend a month more.(That's another story though). Once I leave the company though, I have to leave the laptop behind. My own laptop is not on a good condition and I can't afford to buy a new one. Another thing is, when I 'm at home. I usually do my posts while watching over my 1-year old son sleep. Every night, he would sit-up half-awake and would prefer to sleep on my stomach or chest, so I have to get rid of my laptop. I was thinking, if I have a tablet, I could continue working while my baby is sleeping. I'm not quite sure though if a 7" is big enough for me to type comfortably--- probably I'd get an external keyboard as well... Are any of you here using a 7" tablet in mylot?

Sometimes, I use my 7 inch tablet to respond to comments. I type my discussions on my 3.5 inch phone and then transfer it to my tablet for posting. Other times, I respond using my laptop. If you are planning to get an external keyboard, make sure the tablet that you will get will support that external keyboard. Mine does not recognize the usb keyboard for tablets. But my other tablet does.

Thanks, This is the most informative response I got so far. I haven't considered that some keyboards have compatibility issues on some tablets. Thanks again.

@jrlcentral You're welcome. And if you intend to use that tablet while travelling, you can consider having a tablet with 3G capabilities so that you don't have to find a WiFi hotspot or bring your pocket WiFi.

I did use an 8'' tablet and found it a little small for typing posts etc ... but I used the internal keyboard... I now have a 10'' tablet and its perfect... but have not used an external keyboard ... so I can not really comment... except that not all tablets will support an external keyboard.... so check before you buy....

Thanks for the heads up regarding the external keyboard. I'll check out if the tablet I have in mind can support one. Thanks again.

I can recommend and iPad or an iPad mini for you. It's easy and very convenient to use. I know that for I am using an iPad mini for years now.

Thanks for the advice. For now though, I can't afford to buy an iPad or IPad mini... at least not without touching a part of my emergency fund.

I have used my nexus 7 on occasions, which is not really too bad. Of course I fully agree with you about a mobile phone being totally impractical.

I still think it is inconvenient to type from a smartphone or a tablet. I like to type from the computer much more because it is faster.

I do not use a tablet but I use my smart phone amd have fot the past several months. It takes some getting used to. My problem with smart phones and tablets is that there is no keyboard so I type much slower. Also its strange not having a mouse. But as long as you have wifi, you may as well!

Thanks maezee. I'm having a problem with my phone's small screen. I guess aI should consider getting a blue tooth keyboard when I buy a tablet.
