Stranger Danger.

A man with a cell phone camera is standing in the parking lot.
This man sees a little boy and starts taking pics of him.
The man sees a little girl and starts taking pics of her.
These are students, elementary students, getting out of school.
The man with the camera phone suddenly realizes he is being watched by a police officer, setting in his squad car. The police officer gets out of the squad car, begins to walk towards the man with the camera phone. The man with the phone does a 180.
The officer takes down a physical description of the man and what he was doing.
The man eventually left the parking lot and the policeman wrote out a suspicious persons report.
My wife saw this while setting in the car parked in the parking lot in front of the Dallas Public Library while I was inside picking up a few Blu-Ray disc movies.
The Dallas Police are on patrol all over the place. Thank you Dallas Police man for being there and stopping a potential child predator from doing his dirty work.
I hope he gets arrested. I really hope the parents are notified about this. I think I will report this to the Library just to let them know what happened on March 24, 2016 at about 5 PM.
The thing that makes this very suspicious was that my wife overheard the officer ask the man, "Are these your children yours?" the man replied, "No." and then the man left. This sounds very suspicious to me.

@just4him No problem. I know a few teachers and such. If I was a teacher it would be art or music. I hate history yet have friends who excelled in history and social studies.

I am not a teacher. I am a retired computer sales representative. The students will be notified if I can get the central library to listen when I let them know about it tomorrow.

@lookatdesktop My mistake. It's good you're telling the librarian.

I am sure they have camera footage from the surveillance cams they have around the outside facing the parking lot.

I hope they arrest that man. If he comes back he better be ready to go straight to jail.

He is a predator, like so many and the only thing that will bring them to justice is having more surveillance cameras out pointing and more security officers present when they release the children at the end of the school day.

Unless I join the police department such cases are not public record. It will either appear on the nightly news report some time in the future or in articles from the local news paper. I once was with crime watch. I need to find out if there is a crime watch located near the house that I can go to. I really liked being informed about things.
If I find out anything about this in particular I will add it to this discussion in the future.

If he had continued his actions the policeman would have done more. I think he got scared and left the area because the policeman asked him if they were his children when he replied, No, they are not. This sends all kinds of red flags as far as I'm concerned.

I saw the police car there in front. My wife watched the event unfold as she was waiting in the driver's seat while I went inside to turn in some items and pick up a few more.

He is definitely a predator @lookatdesktop and the sooner they catch him the better because he isn't going to stop his behavior.

I find it unusual that the local library was built actually attached to the elementary school. There is access to the school proper but there is also a lobby that leads to the library on one end and the school on the other end. I usually see the children forming a line and being attended to by at least one or more adult supervisors as they go in and out of the library to and from the school. It's an unusual situation from my point of view.

@dianadee The Dallas Independent School District does background checks on the staff of all public schools. I hope they do a complete psych evaluation of all the teachers but as for day care, OMG! There are a number of private day cares running out of private homes. In that case there might well be many cases of abuse, come to think of it. You got me wondering.

@lookatdesktop You can never tell who a predator is, these days. Sometimes they can be child minders.

Good thing grandma saw him and got him out of that car. It could have been very bad for your son.

@Auntylou , Walking home from school one day I was carrying my trumpet and 6 large books and a lady pulled over and asked if I wanted a ride, this was back in the 60's though. I got in and lived to tell the tale. These days I could have been abducted. Hind sight is 20/20.

It's great that your policemen where doing a great job in securing people especially the young ones. I have no idea why the policemen in our country are not doing that. Slacking cops are the worst. They should be fired for not doing something. I think they're just there for the salary.

I know that is likely in some cases, but moreover, all over the world, there is corruption at the very core of law enforcement. It's not like NYPD blue in the real world. lol.
