Ok, my Mother has been deceased for 5+ years. I don't cook much like her at all. I tried thinking back to her style of cooking and mine is extremely different. She cooked with lard and margarine and I only use cooking spray or sunflower oils. I know that I am overweight, but I would like to think that my cooking is a little bit healthier than what hers was with all the added calories that she fried with.
On a happier not, I do miss her potato soup, stuffed cabbage and stuffed green peppers. Those were here best dishes. Oh yeah, she did make this poor mans pot pie that was delicious with potatoes, bisquick and bologna.
