Driving Pet Peeve: Right of Way Intersections

One of my driving pet peeves is the right-of-way at intersections.
For example -
A vehicle at an intersection wants to make a left turn on a solid green light needs to yield the right of way of the vehicle approaching from the opposite direction.
- OR -
A vehicle at an intersection wants to make a left turn on a solid green light needs to yield of the vehicle approaching from the opposite direction going straight.
I come across these two situations all the time - on a daily basis actually. Even though I have the "right-of-way", I always have to proceed with caution - just because the light is "green" you have to pay attention if the green light is a solid light or an arrow green. If it is an arrow green - you have the right away.
Do you have any driving pet peeves? It seems like people now a days need a driving lesson refresher and test.

I hate those as well. I try to be as safe as possible at an intersection turn and traffic light with on coming vehicles. Once I had a close shave when a lorry turned and cut across my path when it was my right of way. Luckily I slowed down upon reaching the traffic light and averted a disaster by stopping in time. I saw a waiting bus driver's mouth and eyes open wide looking at me after that happened.

Glad you were safe and alert. I am always alert because people just don't know what the right of way means or something!

Even though I obey the traffic laws, I find it easier to wave the other driver through. They are more apt to hit you rather than obey the laws. It is easier to just let them go first. Heck, some don't even stop for a stop sign. It doesn't say slow down and go fast.

I sometimes let the other person go also - but sometimes when they're yielding for the straight drivers and I'm going right - I mind as well go too. Why wait if they're yielding but as I go , and they "can" go they think tend to honk though thinking I did something wrong!

I have so many driving pet peeves. The top one, of course, is seeing people who are on their phones or texting while driving. They just aren't paying enough attention to traffic and they become an accident waiting to happen. Once I see that, I back away from them, just in case.
I also am greatly bothered by drivers who follow too closely. If something happens and I need to stop quickly, I know they will hit me from behind. Sometimes I pull over to let them pass me. I just don't understand.

Oh yes - those on the phone especially holding their phones and not paying attention to the rude is annoying. Then when they get honked they acted as if they did nothing wrong!
And, I don't like those who tail gate or drive super close to my bumper. I always break from afar to let them know I am breaking if they're close to me.

@jstory07 Definitely - I try to avoid those drivers at all costs. Then, when they get honked at - or looked at, they think they did nothing wrong. Plus here in California - if they are seen to being using their phone, holding their phone while calling they'd be fined if caught by a police.

Oh yes! I noticed in crowded areas - no one uses blinkers. Another pet peeve of mine is when I am waiting for the solid line to be dashed so I can go in that particular lane but people from behind are already cutting in.

Are there any driving regulations in India? I know in other countries the driving regulations are way different and everyone just drives however they want.
