I have recently read about this new American device on one of Livejournal pages. It is called Dash Button. It is a button, a logo and a microchip inside. You stick this device near the place of keeping certain goods - powdered detergent, tablets for a dishwasher, razor blades. When you realize the product is running out, you push the button and it orders the needed product automatically. You have to touch your smartphone to confirm your order then and this is all. Looks like really useful and time-saving device. But i think it also creates dependence of the customer on definite brand name, that is not always a good thing. Besides, user must be sure in its cyber-safety. I would like to ask the Americans first - do you really have this item or have you heard of this at least? It was said it cost something like 5$ only. Would you like to have such thing at home, dear mylotters? Youtube ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHMXXOB6qPA

We have nothing like this here in Switzerland, but this is not something I would install in my kitchen. I want to be free to go out and buy what I need not being tied up to a brand and buying when the items are on sale.

seen it on amazon, do NOT want. I can see hitting it by accident. or what if you have a kid and they keep hitting the button? I can go online, or go to my list and write what I need down.

I cannot decide for now if I like this device installed in my house. I will wait and see if this is already available in the market.

Wow! That's cool! Nothing is impossible. If I could afford I would try it only for curiosity.

I haven't heard of this and I am sure if it is so then it would cost a lot more than $5.

My goodness you would need dozens of those things! At $5 a time that would add up to a lot of money before you have even bought anything you actually need! I will stick to a shopping list thank you!

I've heard of fridges which will tell you when you're running out of items. It all seems a tad lazy to me. Future generations will live in a world where they never have to leave the confines of their home.
