Today the students learn difficult courses

Sometimes I can't believe that today the text book can be so difficult. For example, my son is a grade 6 pupil. However, when I look at his maths and English books, I found that the level is already up to the high school level in the past. I don't understand why they learn so difficult courses so soon. Perhaps today the children are smarter? This can be the only one reason...

I think those children spend more time in studying. However, I prefer children play more.

@hoong143 In fact I prefer children have more outdoor activities rather than playing the video or tablet games.

I notice the same here in our country. Some subjects of high school students were usually taken at college during my time.

I doubt they are smarter! I think they just have to work harder, and they have lesser time for outdoor games. i do not understand the quest for perfection too. Most of the things we learn in schools are not used in real life.

I agree with you. But perhaps the education will change our ways of thought.

It is sad that it already becomes to be a trend.

This is the opposite in the western countries, when I look to the text books they use now in high school I remember that we learned those things when I was a kid.

Really? But anyway, having the easy courses doesn't mean that the children can not be great people. On the contrary, I think here the education takes away a lot of happy and creative time from children and I really think it is wrong.

If you have your own child, perhaps you will feel it much more.

The same thing happens here. I have a cousin who is several years younger than me. One day she showed me her biology book, and I was very surpriced. She was in the 7th grade at that time, and the things that they learned were much more difficult than the things I learned in the 7th grade. I learned those things in high school.

Sadly, it's the same here. But it's not right, they got to learn by process not advancement. only a few students are gifted enough to advance themselves to another level./

That's what happening today. Long time ago, we studied Calculus when we were already in college. But at present, my daughter had Calculus when she was in grade 6.

The expect the students to work and go to school and still maintain good grades. My sister is in kindergarten learning how to write her name and she came home crying yesterday because the teacher embarrassed her because she didn't know how to subtract three digits. My high school math teacher would teach us out of college math books. They assume that their helping us when in reality the pressure is to much.

This is very crazy. I can't believe that even in Singapore the teachers are also so crazy as well as the teachers here.
