Baby nap time, needed but inconvenient.

I have 3 children, one of whom is an adult (almost 18), but the other 2 are babies who are almost 1 and 2 in age. The younger 2 both require an afternoon nap, which is a great time for me to be able to get on and do things like laundry or pots, not so great for vacuuming though... The time when they are sleeping is great in some ways, a bit of peace and time for me to feel like a normal person and not just "mum" for a couple of hours, but it can also be inconvenient at times. When I'd like to pop out for example, or if we have been asked to go somewhere (with the children of course) but it's during "nap time" so we have to say no. Anyone else out there feel like nap time is a double edged sword?

It's really difficult to go out during nap hours of our babies. If they won't take the nap they will have tantrums and that's worst.

Most certainly, I've had days where they haven't napped and it's hard work once they get overtired.

I think it depends on the situation. Sometimes breaking the routine is good as well but not all the time.

I've broken the routine a couple of times due to family commitments, but it's hard work dealing with two overtired grumpy little men when I've had to do it!

My babies are grown ups now and on their own, I remember what it was like when they were babies but they grow up so fast, enjoy them now, they will be big tomorrow,
