Facebook safety check feature

This nifty feature helps people to inform friends and family they are safe in the event of a disaster. I think the first time it was used was the Paris terrorist attacks.
Well, they must be still working out the bugs, because, while I am on an entirely different continent than Pakistan, I got the notification asking if I was safe.
While I am safe and sound, thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the explosion.
Hopefully I will never need to use the safety check, I am glad it is available and hope Facebook can work out the bugs.

I thought this feature was awesome because i am very close to the affected area,
now you are saying that you were asked as well it means it is not a good feature.
they should target the user in that region

Apparently Facebook has apologized for the error. I am sure they will take steps to ensure it works properly next time.

Facebook is useful in relaying messages among friends and relatives! But I haven't opened/read the safety measures. Got to look at it. Thanks.

I never noticed this feature on facebook but it's nice to have so people can be notified. I also pray for pakistan and the families involved.
