My brother had a filling fall out of his tooth. It hurt him bad and then it abscessed. OUCH! The entire side of his face swelled up including his eye and lip.
No dentist was open on Good Friday, so we tried to find one for an emergency. The soonest we found one to see him see him is Monday morning at 9:30. My brother has a high tolerance for pain, and it reached a point he could not handle it.
We ended up taking him to "Doctors Care" at 9:00 Am Saturday morning. It has affected his vision, and he could not drive. They gave him a shot for pain and a prescription for pain and antibiotic.
He was horrible all day yesterday and all night last night as well. He started feeling some better this morning, but still not well. A lot of the swelling has gone down but has not all gone. He goes to the dentist in the morning, so hopefully, he will have a speedy recovery after that. However. They gave me the apt for him but said that it will be a long wait, due to the fact they have to work him in. Apparently, they are booked.
We had Easter here today. I had to use the rolling pin on my brother's chips for his Taco salad, so it would not kill him to eat it. I also shredded the lettuce etc... so he could eat. He had not eaten in days, due to this tooth issue.
YIKES!!! What a weekend!
Today went well my family including parents, sister, aunt, brother and his new girlfriend came for lunch and stayed until 8:30 tonight. It was a long day, but a good one.
It is raining here today, so that is the only negative thing about today. I hope everyone here had a wonderful Easter today.

ER would not help him with it. There was no emergency dentist on the weekend here.

@LadyDuck The only thing that I could do for him was go to "Doctors Care", and they put him on antibiotic for the infection. He also got a mild pain pill. The antibiotic helped, but the pain pill was so mild, that it did not help tooth pain.

@slund2041 This can be a serious problem in case of major accidents.

He had to have it surgically removed this past Wednesday. He suffered days with it, and it is still bleeding on Thursday night. He has gauze in his mouth now.

@simone10 He is not over it. It is still bleeding and draining and he still has to keep gauze in his mouth. The surgery was Wednesday and today is Friday. He is not in as much pain, but they had to go so deep due to the infection and all.

It was cut out surgically instead of pulling it out. Infection is still bad.

The infection is still giving him problems. His mouth has started swelling back up and the infection has not gone away. I think I will call the doctor office tomorrow.

One of the things I hate in life: Toothaches. I don’t know why almost all of the dentist won’t operate on a tooth when it is still aching. They’d require you to let the pain ease for a few days and prescribe you some antibiotics and pain relievers. That’s why sometimes; I just tell them that it does not hurt anymore and I would just take the pain.
It’s certainly not easy to hold the pain during a toothache. Most of the time, it leads to a headache.

Well, apparently all the dentist in my area is booked three months out. If I had told them he was not in pain they would not get him in. I took him to an emergency place to get on antibiotic Saturday morning, and he is much better.

@Dextoi He is finally doing better. He had to have oral surgery though. He lost vision in his right eye for a few days. His sight is finally getting a little better. Doctor said the lost of sight was due to the infection.
