I live in the beautiful Texas Hill Country and the state flower is the Bluebonnet! They are coming out along the roadside sprinkled with other assorted wild flowers!
I have seen the Bluebonnets covering a field so thick they look like water!
What beauty God has made for our pleasure!

I bet you have some beautiful wild flowers too. They have a wild seed farm about 42 miles away and you can buy the seeds!

What a gorgeous shot, I love these. We don't have them in Illinois that I'm aware of. Thanks so much for sharing.

I think the Texas hill country is the most pleasant in the state. That's where the LBJ ranch is, if memory serves.

That must be a great view along side roads. How long do these flowers last? I have never seen such a thing before.

@Margielynn - We really like to visit those fields full of bluebonnets and the Indian paint brush flowers around the little city of Brenham, Texas - and then head over to Blue Bell Ice Cream Company's ice cream sampling room to cool down after seeing all of those hot flower fields. -Gus-

Wildflowers are certainly beautiful but don't know if I've ever heard of the bluebonnet.
