Laughter and tears

They say what makes you laugh now will make you cry later. Like their telling us that happiness ends but it's not supposed to last forever. If we were happy all the time we would take it for granted tge tears we shed when we are hurt make us appreciate the smiles we have when we're happy.

What if gratitude and appreciation are cornerstones that one created as a result of such fruitful happiness and dire lulls in life, should we not expect happiness in the end?

In the beginning theres trial and error. I believe that once we've been through a certain amount of dire situations then we shall be happy and live out the rest of our lives but thats only if when we are younger we learn to appreciate and give gratitude to the happy times.
