Is it all about the money?

When looking through the discussions here at MyLot, I see a great many posts about earnings, how much someone has earned, how much can potentially be earned etc... To me, it's not about the money, I just want a platform to write and ask questions about my daily life, talk about things important to me on that day or discuss the news etc...
Years ago, I did see it as a way to earn a little to once in a while pay for subscription to a game I played (and still do play), but that's not what I'll be doing with my little earnings from here now. In fact I haven't even re-sorted my paypal out yet, I may even put it into my other half's paypal for convenience.
I never used to find the earnings here good enough to pay for anything great, hence using it for a game and I'm not sure yet whether the earnings have gone up and become better? I'm a parent to 3 children, 2 of which are under 2 currently, so I wont have masses of time to be posting masses of quality content. So I will assume my earning rate will still be low, but that doesn't bother me.
So, is it all about the money to you? Or is it more about having a forum to vent/moan/chat about your daily lives and enjoy reading the discussions of others?

For me, the money was (and still is) something of an incentive but only really in the sense that one plays a game to earn points. MyLot has always been much more important to me as an honest and well run site where one can socialise and meet other people through their thoughts, opinions and knowledge.
I like to write and I like people to read what I write. You don't get the same level of interaction on a blog and MyLot is an ideal place for that. I also enjoy helping others when I can and I find that MyLot is a place where what knowledge I have is appreciated.
I should say that I stayed with MyLot as an 'ambassador' through the years when there was no earnings program, greeting new members and answering their questions about it. Now that the site has reformed and started paying again, I still do that, of course but I am very glad to see sensible, interesting and worthwhile discussion and social interaction taking place. For me, that was what MyLot was all about.

I also like to write, and have people read and respond to what I have written, however I find platforms like blogs to be a bit frustrating and places like facebook and social media i general to be far too personal (having my family read everything I write would not always be a good idea).
I left MyLot prior to them stopping paying, I had no clue that they had until the other day. This wouldn't have stopped me from returning, I have the need to write once again, that I had lost for some time, so I am very glad MyLot is still here and that I remembered my username and password ha!

May be money stands as a root cause of many to be part in mylot. And also having fun, interactions, informations, involved in it.

Nah, I'm not entirely here for the money. I'm here for the discussions, it's fun to answer questions and share answers!
In another now defunct site that's where it was all about the money for me. Here it's all about the fun and interaction.

It's a combination. I admit, I came here for money, but I do want to contribute as well and try to leave thoughtful comments instead of just three word, meaningless responses. I like the social aspect, the sharing of ideas.

I was active in few sites - from two of which I was not eligible for payment being non US based. Another paid very little but then stopped payment few months ago. I faced a double whammy - nothing for my efforts and time and many with whom I interacted became non-active or left the site.
Though one can never make much through online sites, I feel some payment will energize the site and attract more efforts from the members - siva

I find sharing uppermost. Sharing about bits of life as I experience it more than poetry cause poetry that is posted here barely gets a nod. That is a conflict due to poetry being life for me. As Garfield finally said, "Its about the giving and not the getting."

I'm here to add to my streams of income opportunities. Conversing with people from all parts of the world about a myriad of topics is a byproduct. The money is small but it is money nevertheless, and it can go to lunch or coffee a few times a month.

You see, now that's my kind of thinking, getting to know people, having a good read and write, and the money is an added bonus to maybe treat yourself once in a while.
Certainly writing and responding on here is not going to be making a millionaire of any of us, but at least we can socialize while we are at it!

@bobbyjoe143 hey, one never knows if conversing with someone and there is a need one or both people can serve the other, that can lead to ideas and becoming millionaires. I know, wishful thinking. ??
