A later feature of training on the Underground was working 'trackside' at West Ashfield station. You will not find this station on a map of the Underground, as it lives on the 6th floor (I think) of the training centre.
On this piece of equipment, we learnt how to carry out various tasks on the rails, under controlled and safe conditions, as well as working close to a train. Not in the picture is a mock up of a train cab, so you could practise the procedures to ensure the train does not move while you are in front. Always a good thing to know!

Thanks for the sneak peak into the inner workings of underground training. Was there any training in what to do when confronted by dalecks?

That must be some serious training if they went to all that trouble.
