I was shopping at Walmart, and looking around for things to purchase, when I saw an employee, having a hard time, as she just kept coughing.
I keep peppermints with me, so I gave her one, and she was very appreciiative, as she said she has been fighting the cough for a long time.
I am glad I was thee at the time. as I was supposed to be, I thihk, so I could help her.
It made me feel good to be able to help another person that needed it, even it it seemed insignifact to someone else. I left there with a good feeling, that is for sure.

It always feels good when you know you helped somebody even if it's just a small thing that may seem insignificant to others. it's also a nice thought that someone up there looking down on us does not let this this little things go unnoticed to him.

@louievill I certainly agree with you there. I was in the right place at the right time, and I realized that afterwards too. I praise God for that.

It sure is, and I was glad I was there at the time. I didn't see any other customers around in that area then, and hard telling how long she would haved coninueed to cough. She said she has been miserable for so long, that the first thing I thought of was to give her a peppermint, as I do carry them with me, and I am glad that I do too.

Speaking as one who has had those long dry coughs that seem to go forever, I thank you on behalf of all of us coughers!

@birjudanak Yes, helping others, doesn't always involve money. There are many things that we do, that are better than money anyway. I was glad that I was there at the time she needed help.

I agree with you, as someone might not have bohered, and just let her cough. I just didn't want to do that, as I felt impressed to help her, and once I did, she was very appreciative of it. It made me feel good, that she felt that someone cared enough to help her.

I always carry gum or cough drops, or hard candy with me when shopping. Can't tell you how many times someone is coughing and trying hard not to do so and I offer them something to stop that darn tickle. Some accept it and some don't.

@rosekiss After being in a place such as a public event or wedding, I now carry something to help with a nag of a tickle. I also bring water with me wherever I go.

@ElusiveButterfly Oh yea, I have water with me too. I need to use it a lot so I make sure I don't forget it when I go to church. It does come in handy, and so do the peppermints. I buy peppermints periodically, so that I have them when I need them. I have a plastic bag, that I put them into, so I can zip it closed, as sure as shooting, the would all land at the bottom of my purse.

That darn tickle is awful, as I sometimes cough and cough, and can't get rid of it. I try to drink water to help, and it does some, but then I am back to coughing again. If I didn't have the pepperming with me, it would be much worse. I am glad I have them when I need them.

ea, so do I. I keep them with me, as I need them perioically too. When I first heard her cough, the first thing I thought about was giving her a peppermint, as I know what she is going through, as I get coughs sometimes that are hard to get rid of. It is nice to have them when I need them.

@rosekiss My mom likes to carry some cough drops because who knows when she or someone will need it. My mom packs a lot of random stuff in her purse, and it comes in handy.

@infatuatedbby Yes, they cedrtainly do. I am so thankful I have the peppermints in m purse, as I need them too, especially in church, when I get a coughing fit, so I take a peppermint, and it does help. I was at the right place at the right time, and I am glad I could help.

@cherriefic Today, when I was at Walmart again, I help a customer who wanted some almond mild in the cooler, and she couldn't reach it, so she asked me if I woudl get it for her, and I was happy to do so. She was very appreciative and thnked me for getting it for her, and it made me feel really good, that I could get for her what she couldn't.

@hereandthere Oh yes, if you need to get through, then it is the right thing to do. It only makes sense to do so.

@rosekiss to be honest, sometimes it's the most common sense thing to do if they're partly blocking the way or slowing things down so a win-win.

I did wash my hands, but I am not concerned that it is anything more than a cough. She seemed to stop after I gave her the cough drop, so I guess it did some good, and it made me happy that it did help.

@Drosophila It is embarassing to get the coughing fit in church. I grab my peppermints and put one in my mouth right away, to get it to stop. I also have my water bottle, and that helps too.

I do agree, that even though it was a little thing, it was still significant as far as God is concerned.

I know what it is like to cough and not quit, as it happens to me. That isnt the ony reason I helped though, as I felt that I should, as no one else was around to help her, and once I did, I felt much better, knowing I had done my part. I want to pay it forward as much as possible.
