Well here it is and it’s too big!
Finally finished my knitting project however it’s too big and the neck doesn’t seem to be right on me either. The reason for the neck not being right on me because it’s too big, well too big on me. If someone was large build I’m sure it would be ok, I think!!!
At the best, on a good day I’m a 38-inch chest at a push. After pulling it all together it turns out to be around 44 inch. Back to the drawing board I guess. At least now I have some kind of pattern and a few tweaks here and there I’m sure I will get it right on the next one, if I do a next one lol. It's ok I guess seeing I didn't have a pattern to go with. Just guess work mainly.
When I wore it was wonderfully warm and I didn’t notice how cold it was outside in the wind. I used size 15mm (US 19) needles and 4 strands of yarn at the same time. I used 16 balls of 100g yarn, with only about 150g left.
Tell me your honest opinion, ok I know the colour not me. I’d rather have a darker colour and the only reason I had that colour because the store had 16 balls of it although I didn’t know have much I would need at the time.

Oh my goodness, that is a beautiful sweater. You did a good job on it, and I think it looks great on you. I applaud you for making a sweater withour a pattern. I certainly couldn't. I wouldn't know where to even start. I have to follow a pattern or I won't make anything.

@kevin1877uk Yea, I guess it would for sure. You do a beautiful job, and I wish I could do that myself. I do okay using patterns though, as not everyone can do something without using a pattern. I have never tried to make anything without a pattern. Good job, that is for sure.

@rosekiss I should have been a designer, back in my teens I would design my clothes. I did one fashion show locally and I should have stuck at designing instead of going down a different path in life,

If you didn't mention it's too big, I think it's just fit on you! I thought it's just the pattern that you want the collar there to be wider, so it's more comfortable. I really think it's just nice, and the color suits you as well. Perhaps you were wearing navy t-shirt and jeans, and the color of the sweater just matches with them perfectly!
I couldn't imagine there are 16 balls of 100g yarns!! I have never knit so many balls of yarns for one item. How impressive!! It doesn't look like it's using very large needles to knit this as well, I just can't see the difference.
I just want to say, very well done!!!

@kevin1877uk Its still a job well done. Making the sleeves is not easy. Assembling and putting everything together is not easy. Attaching the zipper is not easy. Nevertheless you have completed the project.

Could you sew the neck up a bit higher? That's the only part that's bothering me from the photo. I prefer to wear my sweaters a bit on the large side, so the rest looks fine to me. And I really like the colour too. No need to wear dark clothes all the time.

No I couldn't sew the neck in a little, but good idea. the front and back are grafted together. the front matches the a back to where the neck shaping is before I knitted the collar. I would have to unsew the sleeves, undo the collar, undo some of the front and then knit it back. I guess I could do it, got me thinking now lol.

@kevin1877uk I don't expect you to undo anything. I didn't mean that you should make the neck tighter, just sew the two sides of the front up a bit to make the neckline a bit higher.

Great job! You could always add a few buttons to the sweater if you don't like the large V-neck it has. I know for a fact I couldn't make this. I know how to do a few simple projects, but here on the islands, it's way too hot to knit.

If you know the basic steps it's pain sailing from there, not much more to it. If you can knit and purple you there.

Wow, it's a gorgeous sweater and I hope you can find a way to alter it easily to fit you better, or maybe you will sell it in your store. It certainly is a nice piece of work. I crochet more than I knit or I would have hoped to help you more than I can with this comment. I do prefer my sweaters to be loose and can pull them on easy over other stuff but that is all personal preference. Still - nice stitching! :)

Actually, I think it looks rather nice @kevin1877uk . I see what you mean about the collar part though; that's the only place that would need adjustment. You could always sell it and make some money.
