Neither is negative. Example : "Neither of us wanted to go out to eat today." Either gives options. Example : "We either go out to eat or stay home and cook supper.." .

When you say neither, the result is zero. When you say either, there will be atleast one option that will be applicable.

EITHER is always paired with OR and is usually positive; example is "Either her mother or her father will join the celebration". NEITHER on the other hand, is always paired with NOR, and it is on the negative; example is "neither her mother nor her father will join the celebration".

I like them both so I would be happy with either of them. I don't either of them, so I would pick neither of them. I hope that helps!
