I went to my native place Ooty last week. The climate was cool and welcoming unlike Chennai where summer is steadily creeping in. It was a family get-together for the annual festival for Lord Muruga. I met a lot of relatives after quite a long time. After eating more than fifty dishes in one week, I'm planning to thrive only on curd rice for the coming week. We danced and sang for the major part of the festival. It was a great stress buster. We have to wait another year to go to ooty now. I miss ooty already. My parents live in another city and we hardly visit our native place except for couple of festivals every year. Have you settled down in your native place? If not how often do you go there?

I was born in Italy, only 120 Km from the place where I now live in Switzerland. As my Mom still lives there, I go once a month to visit her.

Yes it is. It is a lovely place that used to be the summer capital of India during the British rule.

50 dishes in a week? That's quite a lot. But, I am sure you really love the food there. It's really nice to have a family get-together, and the annual festival sounds fun! I am staying in a city about 200km away from my hometown. My parents and parents-in-law are still staying there, so we go back about every two months. My parents visit us quite often, as they have retired and I have another younger sister staying nearby as well.

I went to our province last year along with some relatives. it wasn't just a vacation but also settle some family matters. If it weren't for our aunt, we wouldn't have to go there. I hope you enjoy your vacation.

50 dishes? Wow, I wished I also tasted different recipes when I visited my parents. I'm glad your vacation was a memorable one. I visited my parents during the Lenten Season. I stayed with them for 4 days. It's where I grew up.
