Who else do you turn to when you aren't feeling well but your mother. We had a nice long talk about the family and to my delight she said that she is passing the family bibles to me, the next time we meet. One would belong to Mom, one belonging to great great grandfather and one to a great great grandmother. I can even imagine how it will feel to hold them in my hands! Lucky for me, there is no one else in our family line who is interested in genealogy! And Mom's bible was actually rescued by my dad when their house burned down. I am a very lucky lady.

I am lucky aren't I. I love the sound of your quote... "keeper of the bibles for generations to come"! I couldn't ask for more :)

You are blessed. Having an heirloom will bring many discussions/memories to hand down to our young ones. Let your legacy shine

Thank you so much! I was hoping that she would pass them down to me, but never wanted to ask. It had to be her decision. I AM definitely blessed!! :)

The fire took EVERYTHING, so I was amazed when mom told me that dad had rushed into the house to grab it. He's definitely my hero! He didn't have a scratch on him, so I had no idea that he had braved the flames to save it.
