I traveled from the US to Africa twice with dear friends and, both times, I absolutely loved it. I loved the beautiful people I met, the new sights and sounds I encountered, and all the things I learned. Everything there was so different from what I know at home but now, it's all a part of my very heart.
What has been your favorite place to visit? Was it in your country or another?

@puddleglum We often travel to Mackinac Island, that is where two of the Great Lakes meet. It is beautiful there.

@AnneEJ it's funny you mention that. I was thinking about Mackinac Island after another mylot discussion, when the movie Somewhere in Time was mentioned. I believe that movie was filmed there. I've always thought the area looked lovely.

That's someplace I haven't been yet. It sounds nice. Were you around a lake?

It really is amazing.
Ireland sounds great. I'm sure it was a special trip. I'd like to go there. I have a little Irish ancestry, so it would be interesting to explore.

Madagascar seems interesting. It's too bad you dint like to travel, but I'm sure you've seen a lot and met a lot of people exploring your own country.

It must have been very nice to be there for several days. I'm sure there was a lot to see, though. I would like to visit Italy one day because of its rich history.

I've heard there's some great scenery in that part of Canada, but I've never been there.

I have heard other people say this about Africa. I guess Ireland pulls at my heart-strings. My son lives there but I don't think that is the only reason I love the country so much. The people, the scenery - it's all just so nice. I really do feel at home there.

Those are good reasons to love Ireland. It looks beautiful in the pictures I've seen.

I like how you explain that--you loved it the most, but you never understood it. I'm sure it's a lovely place to visit.
