Knitting an Urchin

United Kingdom

Strange title.. but I am going to try. I've done one before and it was gratefully  received. In fact I've done two, come to think of it. Two knitted urchins. No, not a family of knitted children, though wouldn't that be fun.  This is a hat pattern. I'll post a picture of the one's I've knitted once I can find one. It's knitted flat and sown up with Kitchener stitch. No,  he's not a first world war general either!  Isn't knitting a complicated business!  I've got some lovely colinete branded wool in a varigate pattern. All pinks and purples and blues. Looks like a sunset. If quite a vivid one.. this wool is fairly bright rather than incipid pastels So very pretty. I also got given 600 G ... yes 600g of double knit wool.. just acrylic mix type stuff.. that is pastels. Blues greens and purples this time. It came with a pattern for a teddy. That's a teddy bear rather than lingerie. Can you imagine knitted lingerie? I'm going to knit a baby blanket..or possibly a Sugar sized blanket cos I'm not v big.

Good luck with your urchins - I've never been a knitter.

It's not that hard but boy can it be expensive. And if you make a mistake it's a right royal pain in the rear end.

I think it'd be nice to knit lingerie. One of my friends wants to try it, as she thinks it's more comfortable to wear our own knitted lingerie. I might look for one and try it some day. Hope you'll enjoy your knitting project!

It's a strange name but it's the name of a knitting pattern for a hat, kind of a slouchy one
