This month, it was quite high. Hoping next month will be the same too. Exchange rate. Since we are being paid in dollars, am i bad to hope.for a higher exchange rate? If the rate is high, it means our.peso is weak. I know, we are importing a lot, like crude oil that are being paid in US dollar. Sigh. Am i bad, or selfish?

A high exchange rate in favor of the dollar to the Philippine peso would benefit our over seas worker and exporters of Philippine products but it would also increase the price of crude oil and electricity generation and would ripple to various sectors like transportation, manufacturing, food production etc... so it has a good and bad effect

@Lucky15 yes and it depends where you stand, OFWs win a lot but the importers will lose a lot, so does the carinderia owner who depends on LPG gas to cook and pays monthly electric bills, again it depends. If you think of your payout then you win

Yeah kinda selfish but you're not alone. A lot of people would prefer a higher exchange rate. It will be good for individual pockets but bad for the Philippine economy.

well a weak peso is not entirely bad (lol, sorry i also wish the exchange rate favors the dollar). this is because if the peso is lower, our goods are more competitive, because they're cheaper. don't worry about oil price because it's meant to decrease, not because of the exchange rate, but because there are now other sources of energy.

Yes you're bad and selfish...joke. Hahaha. Well, we have to accept the our money becomes weaker and weaker that makes our economy down. Earning dollars in here is a bit of consolation.

@Lucky15 I redeemed yesterday and yet, our exchange rate is a little more than P46.00. I hope when I cash out my $2.5, it will be P60. Wishful thinking.

A glow comes on my face too when I see the exchange rate rising. Why should I feel guilty. If our government was over board then it was a different matter.

You are not bad or selfish. You got to do what you can to make your money go farther. But the US dollars right now is very high.... Its not going to be good for you...but you could leave the money in Paypal until it changes...

If you are bad and selfish for wishing that the exchange rate will be higher, you are not alone. I am too. I always wish that the exchange rate will be higher. LOL I had seen last Jan 24 or 25 that the exchange rate reached P48 for USD$1. But right now it's just aroung P46.10 right? In PP it's P44.89. I am thinking that the reason of the sudden decrease was because of the $81M that was hacked. Haaaay
