Yesterday afternoon in broad day light, me and my husband became a witness. Not of a crime, thank God. But of an incident that of course many of us would not want to happen.
A man named Leo, from outside our village, a gardener, car and garage cleaner and all around helper was asked by my neighbor to clean something in their garage. Upon the start of his activity, he told the house helper that he will buy something. But he never came back, minutes passed he was seen on the vacant lot in front of my neighbor's house. He is sitting there and cannot stand on his own, conscious but his speech is slurred and half of his face is dropping.
He had a brain attack, stroke it is. Having the know how to get a blood pressure and with a husband who has BP issues, I am somehow equip of knowledge. He has 170/120 BP, so I gave him a sublingual catapres tablet. After which thank God, his friend arrive with a tricycle to transport him to a nearby hospital.
Today, I learned that he is the brother of the school bus driver of my son.

Thank goodness he was found and given medications. Worse things can happen. My mother also has hypertension and there are days that she complains of feeling like she's wearing a helmet.
Fortunately, she has now started to discipline herself when it comes to her diet.

@hereandthere
I hope so too that it is not severe, for sure there will be paralysis and therapy is in order but I am not sure if they will able to have that since therapy here cost a lot too.

@ridingbet oh yes, though I am also nervous, it is better trying to help than nothing. I am scouting now to have a formal training for first aid seriously, lol. In my neighborhood and also from people I know, there were quiet a number of them who undergone emergency cases the past weeks.

You're an angel for him not a witness. Can you imagine the dilemna if no one was there to help him, that could have been worse. That school bus driver will be grateful to you and will hopefully keep an eye for your kid from now on.

I am just trying to do what I can to help him. And I will help others who might be needing help. But the school bus driver is a good and trusted man by our family also. I can usually ask him favors if I needed help especially buying stuff in groceries since I do not have any helper in the house. It just so happened that man is his brother
