The Corny Answer to The Corny April First Joke

Ha ha! You reminded me of another joke, but it's more auditory. If d u l y spells duly, and m u l y spells muly, what does j u l y spell?

@DWDavis Why, the 7th month of the year, naturally ;) Watch out, we'll be in violation of Guideline #20 soon, if we're not careful!

@DWDavis Yes I was just thinking that DW, but here in Denver there are virtually no mosquitos either.

We still get them, though not as many as we used to. I wonder if that is a sign of global climate change or some other worrisome change in the environment.

@DWDavis We used to have tons of lightning bugs around here, and now you can never find them. Like you said, I wonder if that is a sign of global climate change? I also noticed that love bugs are starting to become more abundant, at least here in Florida. Sadly, bats and birds don't like to eat them because apparently they don't taste very good! lol

I haven't seen any yet this year, but I'll know when they are here. They'll be all over the porch around our light.

@LadyDuck They certainly can be pests. We have to be careful at night when we open the doors because they congregate around the porch light and will buzz into the house if we're not careful.

@DWDavis They are already around and they sneak inside every time I open a window.

We don't seem to see them as much as we used to.

Very serious. When I tell a joke as corny as this I feel it only fair to provide a warning.

You reward is the satisfaction of a job 50% well done.

It was too obvious, yet somehow most people don't think of it.

Way back when I was a kid on Plymouth Plantation, when Miles Standish used to tell us kids that joke, the answer was Pilgrims, LOL. Somewhat more recently I heard the June Bug version and liked it better.

I appreciate the upgrade to SUPER, LOL. Perhaps this joke should wear a cape.
