I saw on facebook today a local woman who does exercise classes is doing a 30 day no junk food challenge this month.
I don't think I will bother to join the group on facebook but think it will be a good idea for me to do this challenge on my own. I tried to do it before Easter and couldn't do it then lol.
I will give it a try and see how many days I can go. I surely had so much candy since Easter that I should be all sugared out.
Today I have had no junk food. I have eaten a banana, a cutie orange, and a regular sized orange. I am sure I can go a few days without any junk food but after that I will probably have a hard time.

If you can't cut out all junk food at once, you might want to try cutting out one extra kind of junk food per day until you've stopped eating it all. That way, you have a backup for cravings without breaking your streak.
For example, Day 1, don't eat any chocolate. Day 2, no chocolate or candies. Day 3, no chocolate, candy or chips. Etc.
It's worth a shot if you can't stop cold turkey.

Thats a pretty good idea but I think if I have any I will just cave in and pig out. I was offered chocolate today and passed it up. My skin isnt improving yet but all the junk food really did a number on it. I am 3 days junk food free today.

@shaggin 3 days is hard! I think it's something like the first week is the hardest and then after 21 days the cravings should go away...
Does anyone know the numbers for sure?

@shaggin Then don't put that in front of you! Or tell yourself you can eat it after 26 days.
I think it's okay not to join the challenge in Facebook or in a group, it's always good to just challenge yourself with it. But, I think it's good to post it in mylot or let your friends know, perhaps it'll motivate you better.
I am always working in the middle of the night, I need some junk food to keep me awake or company.
Perhaps we can look for some healthy snacks.

I didn't actually join the challenge that is on facebook I just saw it and decided it was a good idea so I will do it on my own. I need to be healthier. Saturday my kids and I got groceries. In the snack aisle we saw a new snack and I bought it for them to try. They are hostess donettes maple glazed mini donuts. They tried them today and loved them. My daughter wanted me to try them but I wouldn't I don't want to ruin the 4 days I'm on of being junk food free.

It hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be. When I am determined about something I usually am able to do it. I have some pretty bad cravings but I think I am doing pretty well. I am at 10 days without any junk food right now. The only sweets I have had is the flavored powdered creamer in my coffee twice a day.

I wouldn't be able to do this challenge as i like chocolate once a week. I can go weeks without any but then i get headaches and have to have it lol.

I believe the headaches you get when you go without chocolate is that there is actually a little caffeine in the chocolate so when you are used to eating it every certain amount of time then stop you go through the withdrawl and get headaches.

I do not like this kind of challenge.
After the 30 days are safety over, she will indulge on junk food, and this is very damaging to the body.
It is better to allow yourself some junk food on the condition that you eat more healthy food.
This is a more balanced approach.

I literally ate so much junk food that the large amounts consumed is probably worse then going cold turkey. I need to ridy body of it completely until I no longer crave it all the time. I have gone two days now without any junk food. I'm craving it terribly. I look forward to in a week or two when the cravings go away.

I don't think I can do that, sometimes mom would bring over a pasta from a fast food which I ate this morning. but I'm eating some vegetables as well. not going full vegan here.

Vegans eat vegetables. I'm a vegeterian but I do consume eggs and milk. Tonight I went to drop my daughter off for a sleepover at my sisters and my sister offered me one of my favorite treats. I told her I wish I could eat them but I'm trying to stay away from junk food all month. I brought them home to see if my man or his son want them.

4 days without any junk food. I think I'm doing very well. I'm still craving it terribly though but hopefully soon the cravings will go away. Today I am so upset about my man moving out that I can't even barely eat at all.
