I watched My Sister Eileen today (the 1955 musical version) with Betty Garrett, Janet Leigh and Jack Lemmon. I'm not a huge musical fan, but this is one of my favorite old movies. The songs are fun and Bob Fosse's choreography is outstanding.
I love old movies like this one. I also enjoy almost anything directed by Alfred Hitchcock such as the Lady Vanishes, Psycho or Rear Window. In addition, I like anything starring Barbara Stanwyck.
Have you seen any of these? Do you like old movies? If not, what kind do you like?

It's great. I love Grace Kelly in that, and Thelma Ritter is funny.

@arthurchappell I love that one too. I like Katherine Hepburn. Have you seen What's Up Doc? (1972)? It was inspired by Bringing Up Baby and the screwball comedy genre.

@puddleglum Her entire life was tragic wasn't it. A shame since she was such a great talent.

What impresses me most about Katherine Hepburn and Barbara Stanwyck is how lengthy their careers were. It's a shame Judy Garland's was not longer.

@BelleStarr It was tragic. She had such a lovely voice. Somewhere Over the Rainbow is still one of my favorite songs.

I like those sometimes, as well. I think older movies had a lot to offer, in that respect, because of the actors. Actors like Cary Grant, Gary Cooper and Charles Boyer made great romantic leads.

@puddleglum I like time travel stories too. I've watched Back to the Future I-III many times. Are you familiar with them?

@Angel_15 I really like those movies! They were a lot of fun. Time travel movies really take the "What if?" theme and run with it.
Did you read any stories or posts last year that compared our 2015 to the one Marty McFly encountered? It's amusing to think about it.

Those are both good ones. I like the costumes and setting for Somewhere in Time. Plus, I really like time travel stories.

I think I have to agree with you. Psycho was complex and ahead of its time. Plus, how many movies can make a person afraid to take a shower? Lol.

She's one of my favorite actresses. I liked her in Double Indemnity and No Man of Her Own. I even liked her in the Thorn Birds in her later years.

I enjoy some musicals, such as My Sister Eileen, as I mentioned. Rogers and Hammerstein musicals are also fun. Do you like any of those?

I love all just about classics! I indulge right after "myLot", mostly never missing any episodes! I can watch an Alfred Hitchcock anytime especially 1930-40's movie times and the retro years just great with some popcorn and my favorite drink!

I think the 30s-40s was a great era--especially for Hitchcock. Such great performances and suspenseful stories.

TCM is great. They show so many things you can't see anywhere else anymore.
