I need to blame 'Someone'.... okay, 'Something' too would suffice for now

Hello MyLot
Ever since the site started paying, and friends and folks from all across started coming in, I have been almost happy.
But... (I wonder why they invented this word)
When Mylot stopped paying a few years back, many migrated to other venues. many lost communication with their best friends (yes, that is me). Then one good day, it was news that the site has started paying again and the hopes of finding and reconnecting with the lost friends became alive again .
But... (oh no! not again)
Some of the old friends returned, found the ways of the new site quite cumbersome - so they left again.
Some of the old friends informed that some of the friends of the past are no more with us and have left us on their journey to the Heavenly Abode.
Now, I do need to blame someone, something whatever I can for the loss. I have lost more dear friends that I had made here during the past stay.
A remedy can be - Please put up your contact details (WHAT?) - maybe your facebook link or even your blog or url on your profile so that some of your friends can try locating you in case anything goes wrong with something somewhere again.
OR
Would you respond to a PM from your friend here who asked you about your contact information?
Losing a friend is painful... and those who have lost a friend would understand that better.
Have a Great Sunday.
Cheers,
Sid.

Hello Sids. I see your focus is as mine is here.
The friendships have taken front and center to earnings here.
We do wonder where everyone still is to this day.

For sure ocean. during the past years I have been around, I have got attached to so many of these souls. Missing out on even one of them seems like a personal loss to me. I am glad that you did share your email with me and now we are better in touch - if anything goes wrong again, at least we can find out if either of us is doing good. I agree, I am lazy when it comes to contacting, but still, I do see it as something positive.

I'd choose not to put anything, another reason why I removed my blog.
Someone asked me to leave my contact number through PM. I didn't reply.
I prefer no interactions outside myLot.

You have my email address Sid! One of my friends here told me that when mylot returned he hardly got any respond and quit on mylot. He asked for my email address and we are keeping in touch with each other there.
I'm sorry if I don't respond fast on email sometimes. It's because I hardly open my gmail. I use the same email address for my hotmail account too so you can also contact me there.

That is so very nice of you. In fact not many of us had a clue that our friends whom we had been interacting for years would just disappear only because MyLot would stop paying. Also, on another note, not many of us think of the bad things first... sometimes being positive and optimistic makes us procrastinate more.

do not know how to contact them.

I am happy that your profile has that url where one can find information about you and am sure, over there, you would have a few close friends who would know about you.
One of our friends here, I found her on Facebook (because of the group). But she has only a very few friends (5 or 6) and unfortunately, none of them have responded to my need - at least they could drop in line only to say she is doing fine.

Hey Sid!
I hadn't lost a friend here yet but I know that I wouldn't want to lose contact with any of the friends I have made here. I like your idea. I will put my facebook link in my bio. It may take some time since my pc had crashed and my phone is not letting me access the settings option from the drop down menu. It is too low and disappears at the bottom. But I will put it up there.

During the small time you were away, I dunno, many might have missed you for sure. I would say I did but I doubt if that would hold. You see, when you have nowhere to go and stay 24x7 at home and in front of computers and online, and on a site like Mylot, like it or not, you start getting attached with those whom you interact almost daily. A set of friends. [Initially, I believed it is just something Indian, but no, I was wrong as I did realize many from West too feel same - and most of my friends here whom I stayed connected over FB are from West.]
I will keep looking out for your FB link and will send you a Friendship request to start with for sure.

I did respond to such a PM, that too with my email address. But I am not going to do that anytime soon. Not even to the damsel who offered me blankets and food! She is a sweet person, but I am boring and intend to remain that way.
Anyone can PM me on myLot. That goes to my mails and sooner or later I may decide to check the mails. In case I am nowhere, well....

@thesids ..No...in between...when they stopped paying ...they changed the script size to much smaller one. Pretty much like what Bubblews had at the beginning. I wrote mails after mails but there was no change in script size...finally I was leaving myLot, the second time...when allknowing told me how to increase the script size. Now I have no issues on that front. The distance between the monitor and my eyes is slightly closer to three plus feet.

@vandana7 Ah right. I noticed that during the days when I would log in and start hopping on the profiles of all on my friend list - and try to find anyone who had left a hint of where to find them. By that time many had deleted their profiles and I could find very limited number of oldies who had links to their existence beyond mylot.

I have been meaning to set up a FB account for my online friends (I've been saying that for YEARS). The reason I kept anonymous all this time was to keep my personal and online relations VERY separate . . . as I often vent about the personal relations to my online relations! . Oh help me should all the stories leak
So this prompts me to do it sooner rather than later. Of course you can PM me anytime here - and I shall let you know as soon as I set something up. And I hope I can somehow leave instructions so if/when the time comes, my friends here can be informed about little ol' me. I'm sure you would want to know the truth should I happen to overdose on coffee and chocos .
I know, I have lost some friends too. It's good to know rather than "wondering" as we often assume the worst.

@thesids Yep - I don't do any of that "discussing" on FB - I only play nice there
I actually know how to find many of you . . . in case something happens to our PM system here.
And - what was I thinking - you and I would have to fight for who would overdose on coffee an chocos first!

@much2say No fights. I wont let you overdose at least on those two things
Yes, Facebook is a boon. Most of us have accounts there. and the better thing is that there is a Group created by Lamb, and it has many of us as members. Also, there is a document available which can be handy to identify who is who - many use a different name here and finding them at Facebook gets difficult without their link. So this document provides us info about their FB names along with their names here and when Bubs existed, there.

as I often vent about the personal relations In my opinion Facebook is definitely the wrong place for this but I have seen them do this again and again.
I will keep that invite in mind and ask you sometime sooner ... in case you have set up the Facebook
should I happen to overdose on coffee and chocos Do you think with me around, that can ever happen to you

Professor was a very loving soul. I recall meeting him once at the railway station - he had informed me of his departure time, and I along with my wife had been to the station to meet him. We were also in touch over phone and he would always ask me about my wife too. He had too many ailments. And one day a PM from another Mylotter (who is also on FB - tigeraunt, if you remember her) mentioned that his health was critical. I called him up but it was too late. I even remember it was Jan 7th. I wished I could have gone to spend some hours or days at their place which is about 500 kilometers from here.

@SIMPLYD Yes, I did expect Kalyani mam to be around maybe after some months but you know things are much complicated in Indian Households specially with their age group. Maybe she finds the memories of Professor here and so she did not re surface or even, maybe she does not know MyLot has started paying again..
On another note, I havent seen tigeraunt, jaiho back on newer Mylot and even on Facebook, both of them are not active. Jaiho had some deaths in her family just about the time when MyLot had restarted and folks were coming in, and even posted a discussion about her return and delays. But that is all. I feel worried at times and think of contacting them via Messaging at FB...

@thesids He is a very good friend , even if i haven't met him personally . She treated me like his sister . And i love that because he was the brother i never had .
It's nice that you have met him personally and a friend for real . Yes, i remember tigeraunt , the Filipina whom he befriended while here in the Philippines .
It's sad though that you weren't able to see him on his last days . How i wish his wife , can again be active here to share her stories of professor .

I wish they would come back!
Amen!!!
Unfortunately some of mine are nowhere to be found. We had a discussion earlier and other interactions too wherin I was told about the sad demise of a few of them. And for the others, no one really seems to know anything about either their whereabouts or even well being. That makes me feel so worried for them. But i always pray wherever they are, lord, keep them healthy and happy.
I had found you on Facebook and I am happy that we are connected there. Thanks for mentioning that you would have no issues in giving out your contact info.

Gheee, I'm so sorry you've suffered such losses, that isn't fun at all.
I vaguely remember when I first joined, it didn't make any sense at the time so I didn't come back for years.
I love this new format though, discussions are so much more fun than the old Gather or Bubblews format of posting and getting credit for comments made to the post.

I remember a few interactions between us on the earlier Mylot. I am glad that you are liking this newer format and yes, though it took a while to get accustomed to the newer format (old habits and preferences take time to die or overridden by the changes), I do appreciate it too. I have no issues with the format. But then, some friends who are older in age 9say above 60) did find things difficult and also had other things at hand. Hence they left. I wished they came back and stayed to get tuned to the newer look and feel.

I would and have responded to friends asking for my contact details. Quite a bit of that was going on when it was clear that Bubblews was going under. We didn't have a pm system there, but one of us would put our email address in the comments on a post, and then delete it when the other party had got it.

I wasnt there at Bubs but I was told that the rules there too were quite strict in terms of sending out personal information. I never knew that it did not have any messaging system except the discussions and comments. So it all sounds good that some people used the commenting system to send out their emails.
I feel happy to know that you too value the relationships that develop here or on sites like this

@jaboUK I wonder why I always feel scared of responding to you despite the fact that I follow you here. If you do not mind, I somehow had an impression that you are more of the non interactive types - as I did see some of your responses earlier being just one liners. But our recent interactions on the two discussions (this and the other one) does make me feel that I sincerely misinterpreted you. Right now, after these interactions, I do feel you are just one of us around, and you are as caring a friend as many others whom I have befriended here.

You have a very pleasing blog and I loved the color selections in particular. And also that blue Denim Britch.
I agree, blogging is not as easy today as it was some years back. Some who do it for money (I am sure you are not) tell that making money via blogs is becoming difficult with each passing day.
Though you have small number of posts, I do believe you have been busy elsewhere and as such the blog seems to have been ignored for a while. I do hope that you get your mojo back as your niche is quite good. Not many blog about horses and mother nature.
I loved the pen name on your blog.

Well, I do not have my social media link up on my profile, but I have my website instead. It can be helpful in case of emergency as I have my phone and emails listed on the website.
On another note (about the rules)- yes, I understand, but between closer friends, I think they can and should share the contact information via PMs. Unfortunately the newer version of MyLot does not have too many profile customization options like they had earlier. Probably they do not want any sort of spamming or even referral links on this site now which is all good to many
