Since we live in the high building, so there are no many mosquitoes here. However, sometimes there may be one or two available and I think they may go here by the lift I like to use the mosquito light killer to get rid of the mosquitoes because it doesn't contain any chemical stuff. And it is harmless, too. It is efficient to work in the darkness. How do you get rid of mosquitoes?

I have this light killer that is not enough to get rid of mosquitoes in summer. I also need to use those electric killers that use chemicals.

If you find it doesn't work well, that's because you may have a huge house

@LadyDuck I remember you have a fountain in your garden. Perhaps you can have some fish inside so that there will be less mosquitoes as they grow up from the water.

@youless No, it's because outside our windows there is the garden. At the upper floor we do not have mosquitoes, but at the ground floor there are many.

I have never had one of these youless, but I also think that these would be the best option and considering your location too. Luckily, where I live, we do not have very few mosquitoes..it is a very dry climate here. I am grateful as other place, there have been so many..ouch, I hate them.

That's so lucky you live in a place without mosquitoes. By the way, the Zika virus is a new disease carried by the mosquitoes. This is why in Brazil the people want to get rid of the mosquitoes. I hope this virus will be under control and will not spread all over the world.

The spray may contain something bad for the health because there are medical and chemical stuff inside.

I do not have mosquito problem for a long time. I think the government has hired a lot of inspectors to go round the country, and punish those who are caught breeding mosquitoes. The fine starts from S$100 per offense.

I must say that in this aspect your government did a good job. In fact I felt nervous when I went to the Singapore zoo because there were lots of plants and animals there. However, no single one mosquito bit me at all. This is quite surprising!

@youless I cannot remember if there is any mosquito in the zoo, I only remember the ants. I have been bitten every single time I visited the zoo!

I am glad it is working well for you! I didn't know that there are so many mosquitoes on high floors. My dad gave me this equipment last year, he knows I have and issue with mosquitoes. It's a real problem for me, even if we are 5 people in a room, I will have bites to any uncovered skin, while the others might get a bite or two! Anyway, I used the mosquito light killer a couple of times but it was not very effective for me. I prefer using the spiral when I am outdoors.

In fact usually there are one or two mosquitoes in high floors. But they are enough to annoy you

@besweet In fact I ever had a thought. If I raised a frog at home, would it eat the mosquitoes and it might be a brilliant idea

@youless haha! that's true! Even one mosquito is enough to ruin our sleep! The worst part is when you go to bed and you are almost ready to fall asleep, and you hear this annoying buzzing sound in your ear! I can't sleep unless I find it so I have to get up and look everywhere in the room before I go back to sleep.

I tend to use pesticides for mosquitos though

One of the shortcoming of the pesticides is the mosquitoes will get used to it for some time and it will not work well for them.

In fact it just spends very little electricity. You can check it before you buy it.

I have a fan on which they don't like and if it's really bad I burn a little citronella tea light as it's the only smell I can stand.

I prefer the rechargeable racket type cause it's more flexible, no wires and you can hit them where they are and not wait for them to come to the light.

Oh, I also have that rechargeable racket but at first you need to see and find the mosquito. If not, then I have to use this mosquito light killer to kill the mosquitoes.
