Kids fight, it is something they all do at one time or another. Brothers and sisters especially fight, sometimes more than others. My oldest son and my youngest daughter fight all the time-non stop! They fight constantly, it is never ending. They are a year apart and you can tell.
As parents you know they do still love each other, but at times the way they fight it makes you wonder. I am babysitting my friends son and daughter today, they were all in the room playing. My son comes out into the living room crying saying the little boy is hitting his sister and he wants him to stop hurting her! I ran in there, and brought the little boy out here for a time out.
Not that I wanted that to happen-I didn't but it was good to see my oldest son worried about his sister. He really does love her after all and he was being protective which was nice to see for once...

@TiarasOceanView Yeah, sometimes it is just hard to tell with how mean they are to each other all the time. Yeah the boy went to time out and his mother is going to punish him when he gets home.

@sallypup I'm sorry that none of you are close even now. I am not super close to my older brother, mainly because he is always deployed but I am pretty close to both of my sisters.

@LovingMyBabies ....Siblings are so combative but you better not try to hurt one or you are in for trouble.

I have two boys, and they also fight all the time. They also resort into calling each other names. Names which I would never want anybody else calling them. They haven't yet, but I'm sure that one day they'll get into fist fights with each other.
But I do know that they love each other.
That'll be my job always -- to make sure to remind them. It'll be great to know that they'll be relying on each other when they are grown ups.

@LovingMyBabies
I know siblings who are now older, have great memories when they were young, how they fought and quarreled with each other all the time. How they were like oil and water, but are now inseperable.

@bounce58 My sister and I are like that. We get along really well now but when we were younger our mother wanted to rip her hair out with how much we fought! Lol.

@bounce58 I figured mine loved each other too, but it was nice to see that he was so worried about her! =) Yeah, my two call each other names and scream at each other all the time.
I hope they get along better when they are older as well because right now they are like oil and water.

I remember fighting with my little brother and my older sister when I was young. We are all so very close now, and you let someone mess with one of us now. We all go to bat for each other.

They say Blood relations are stronger that any other relation and here is the proof.
I loved reading the brother coming out and seeking your interference instead of trying to resolve it on his own.
i and my brother had many fights between us until 1991 and the last one (in 1991) had us stabbing each other (though nothing severe happened). But it is just between us. We know, that in case someone from the outer world tries to hurt either of us, the other will stand rock solid in between, no matter whether the other one is wrong or right. in my opinion, family bonding and more so the blood relations are more stronger than many others.

@thesids Yes most definitely. I was glad he came and got me as well-that is what we have taught them to do so I'm glad he listened!
It is good to know that they will defend each other when it's needed. The way they fight its hard to tell that they love each other at times!
I am glad you and your brother wouldn't let anyone else do harm to each other.

My oldest two kids are 18.5 months apart and they fight most days almost all day long. It's always over toys of course. We teach the, to share and they are pretty good about it unless, they both want it at the same time.

@jstory07 I have never seen him get protective over his sisters before, maybe because he hasn't had to until now so it was nice to see.

I think that siblings that fight as children have more love for each other then those that do not. My younger 2 brothers never fought with me as children, but a few years ago spoke some bitter words to me and since then have been acting very unchristian-like. Today my older brother called me, we used to fight, but now we get along. What my younger brothers said to me and how they treated me are things that I wouldn't even treat a stranger. But bread on the water always returns, so I have a feeling that they'll get theirs in the end. My heart aches from a comment made by my older brother this afternoon. Its sad, because in the end, family is all that we have.

@Juliaacv I am sorry you went through that, hurtful words should not have been said to you. That is terrible. Maybe they will realize the error of their ways and apologize-I hope so. =(

@AnneEJ It is weird how they do that. Like it's okay if they treat each other badly but not okay if someone else does it. They are strange! Lol.

@Teep11 Yeah it was proven to me today that they really do love each other even through all of their fighting! I cannot wait until the fighting calms down, it makes me want to pull my hair out! LOL

They'll probably be the best of friends when they're adults.
