Cockroach Thinks He is a Butterfly!

While on myLot this early morning, I was jolted from my seat when a big insect flew past me. I ignored it thinking it was a big moth or other "friendly" insect that got inside our home.
But it flew and flew around, then I recognized it was a cockroach! Just wondered where it came from since we have screen doors and windows, and our house is still relatively new so there's no such pests here. Maybe it came from the drainage outside. Can't slap it with my slippers because it was so quick! Later I will hunt where it hid.
Well, that cockroach thought he is a butterfly, the reason he kept on flying! What do you think?

@acelawrites Cicadas sound OK, at a distance, but are almost as ugly as cockroaches.

But I like cicadas more than cockroaches which are "yucky!"

It is so rare that a cockroach flies like that, so I was so surprised when ti flew and even "perched" on my lap, but it was so quick I was not able to get rid of it.

Oh no. I have no experience with cockroaches. Around here they are unheard of unless someones home is very very very dirty. I have never seen one. I have never known anyone who had one in their homes but have heard of a few families whose houses had them when I was young. I know that in cities like New York they are common and in homes that are very clean. They are just everywhere I guess like how we get flies or lady bugs here in our homes. I hope that you find it before it decides to breed.

I guess it came from the drainage outside or from our neighbor's house that looks so old and not so clean.

Yes, and I hate them so much because of the germs they carry!

Yes, it is so good in hiding. So I will keep watch when it comes out.

I had no idea roaches could fly. Luckily I have only seen them once, I think they came in with a delivery one winter, and they were very slow and we killed the pair of them

Those flying cockroaches are such a pest! I remember in the late 80s my father had heard about them migrating from South America or something. At the time it was hard to believe we'd ever see them in our country. But I have seen something that I think is a flying cockroach, and it was not at all pleasant!

Yes, it is not pleasant, so I have to hunt for it because it might reproduce inside our home.
