I Got My Glasses

I just went out to the mailbox and looked and there they were, all three pairs. I have the computer glasses on and it's like night and day to the other ones I was wearing. The doctor said there wasn't much change, but the not much was enough to make a big difference to my seeing on the computer. It's great. I was worried about the bifocal but there was no need. They're perfect! I haven't checked out the reading glasses yet as far as reading a book is concerned, but I will be. Now I can start reading The Half-Blood Prince. I am very happy with my glasses and if you want a recommendation to getting glasses online, I'll let you know which site it was in a private message. The only thing I do need to do is go to Wal-Mart and have the bows adjusted on my face. Do you have good news or any news? Thanks for reading.

I just posted it. The ones in front are my computer glasses. On the back left are for reading and the ones on the right are my bifocals.

Yes it does. I also need to sit back from the computer now. My screen is 25" and feels suddenly way to big.

@maggs224 Yes it does. Would you believe I'm playing trombone with them, trying to find the best place to work on here. To close is well too close and too far is blurry, so I need to find the happy medium. But I'll take that to what I had any day.

I am. My eyes feel a bit sore at the moment, but I think it's because they were so used to those other ones, and seeing out of glasses with a proper prescription is going to take some getting used to.

yay for glasses coming in! I have got to have a check up and get my perscription, but I dont like that dr that we were going too, so going to have to pull out the insurance and try to find someone new. I HATE when drs are condescending. I know I dont go to the eye dr enough, I know I wear my contacts too long, but dont talk down to me! And dont act like you know my history and eyes better than I do, Ive worn contacts since 1985.

@just4him I will, insurance will only pay for so much for contacts or glasses, each year, and I will need to use that money for contacts. Glasses I will just have to order online

I hope you find a good eye doctor. Once you have your exam, you might want to get them online. It was a huge savings for me and they did a great job of them too. Just be sure you get your PD before you leave the doctor's office, or you can always get it from Wal-Mart if they won't do it because you aren't getting your glasses there.

very cool, I wondered how that worked. Glad it went well. I need to go for an eye apt and probably get new ones, these are about 5 years old and I can feel that they are not right.

@just4him wal mart is so good about adjusting them. I got my last pair from Sams and will never do that again. The lenses are peeling I have no idea why.

I think getting them online will be the new wave of the future. I know I'll be getting them this way from now on. I was able to go into Wal-Mart to have them adjusted so now they're even better and I don't need to worry about them sliding off my face.

I recommend the online site I got mine from. I needed three pairs and got them all for under $100.

I remember the time that I first started wearing bifocals. The optician had warned me that it would take some time to become accustomed to them and that I should persevere for a couple of weeks at least. As it turned out there was nothing to get used to because they seemed natural from the very first day. It is natural to look slightly downwards when reading and look up to look ahead, so there were no problem whatsoever.

My first experience with bifocals would have made you laugh. I was forever stepping over the line that wasn't there. That was years ago. When I put these on I was very happy with the placement of the line. It doesn't interfere with my being able to see. They did a great job.

@just4him I was as disoriented as that when I first acquired glasses, but changing to bifocals was automatic to me.

I have friends who get glasses online and are very happy. I like the idea, but hesitate because I have a "difficult correction" I am told.

@just4him For the computer , can it make you read those letters , since you aren't in your reading glass but for that .

No. Though two pairs look similar, one is my bifocal, the other is my reading, and the plastic purple ones are my computer. No confusion.

@SIMPLYD The different glasses have a different distance to make it easy to work on the computer or read. The bifocals don't work at all for the computer. They work best for distance. They also work for reading, but only for a short time. So I have reading glasses so I can read a book.

Yes, it's like night and day. The best part is night driving. Whatever they coated the lenses with, headlight glare doesn't bother me at all and I can even see the road in heavy rain. The glare on it is tolerable as well. I was really surprised about that. So it was a win on all three levels, bifocal, computer, and reading.

Thank you. They turned out perfect. I wasn't as worried about the single vision glasses for reading and computer, but the bifocals I had my doubts about. Not to worry, they're perfect too. I had a little eyestrain as my eyes got used to the new prescription. I love that I can see again and it's so much better than the other glasses. I will definitely buy them online again.
