Cold weather. Getting heated.

Good morning, friends. It took me a while to get out of bed. The day started cold and gray. It seems that Mr. Autumn arrived I am getting prepared for it though. I got out my electric blanket and talked to my brother over the phone about a small electric heater my mother had. I seems that it is not his, but rather my mother´s and that he does not want it (he has central heating). I can place it in my rook with a device that will make it work every night for a certain hour and then another hour at dawn. That way I will be warm at night and it won´t be so expensive. What sort of heaters do you use? I know it depends on the climate you all have.

@Cintronwriter No, it is gas central heating. gas is cheaper to run that electricity, but I would have preferred to have an electric system rather than having to have both supplies.

@Asylum oh ok. It's a double edged sword, gas is cheaper but electricity is more efficient.

I do not need air conditioning where I live. I have a couple of fans for the Summer though.

@Marcyaz The last time I liked snow was when I was young and went to the mountains with the children for the day.

It much depends on where we live. In Punta Arenas, a chilean city in the very south, there is snow for a great part of the year. They need central heating and beautiful stoves heated with logs.

Thankfully, my place has central heating so all I have to do is turn the thermostat up and viola!
