Philippines

My family loves to watch movies in theater -cost too much- Me and my friends loves to watch movies at home -for FREE- Watching movies in theater needs to be quiet -a bit boring- Watching movies at home with your friends is so noisy - More Spoilers to Expect- Having some snacks while watching movies in theater is -FUN- Having beers and appetizers while watching movies at home -is a lot of FUN- Sometimes after watching in theaters its hassle when going Home because of traffic Sometimes after drinking and gets drunk its hassle because you cant force them to go Home. But still theres no place like Home

I'll definitely prefer theatre if I think the movie is worth watching. Here in Indian theatre, people comment too and it's mostly funny to hear them and laugh

I prefer also to watch in theater sometimes if my mind would think that it was going to blow up tired of waiting a good copy on the internet. And yes watching in theaters is not complete If you did not see others reactions, especially when you are watching suspense and thrilling.

Personally, I prefer at home. I know where the bathroom is and I have always had this fear ( since I was a little girl) of not being able to find my way back to my seat. I guess that the fear stuck!

If you have your friends or family with, you can tell them a two way signal light so that they will signal back once they saw your signal thats what we do sometimes. I think very few people only watch alone. but still wathing at home is the best.

@TwixTwinz I never thought of that, but it certainly would help you back to your seat wouldn't it!! What a great idea!!

Yes, watching movies alone at home can make you focus and understand well the story and the message of the movie, but if your friends is with you , definitely its not as good as alone. proven

Where do you watch movies for free at home? Is it legal? I prefer to watch movies at home with a small group of friends. Theaters like you said are expensive but also kind of annoying having to watch the movie in a room full of people.

Im putting the movie on my USB and then I plug it in our TV or watch it directly on my computer. Apparently its not legal. Im only downloading my movie online, If a movie is currently live at cinema, the movie is like blurred because took only in camera. I must wait for about 1-2 months before I able to see it in clear copy.

I do love the movie theater. The seats are so comfortable and the screen is so large. But yes, it's expensive. So I do love watching movies at home now. I usually choose a weekday evening and then Saturday nights for watching movies here. I make some popcorn, get something to drink and settle in to watch something interesting and fun!

@TwixTwinz LOL! Sounds like you've had real problems in movie theater seats! Home is generally more comfortable for a lot of reasons. And yes, we can save a LOT of money! :)

Yes the seat is comfortable but, All you can do is just to seat properly and you cant lay your body to the side, also your butt feels that It was going to fall inside the hole when you feel restlessness. #midnight snacks, thumbs up movie marathon :D

Watching movies in a movie theater means you are surrounded with people that are inconsiderate; playing on their phone, talking, or kicking the back of your seat. Now this doesnt happen every time I go to the movies but most of the times I can count on it. I only go to the theater if I know the movie will look good on a big screen. But now the theaters now have these big reclining plush chairs you can watch movies in now and I always bring my blanket its worth it.

I like watching movies at home the best. Some movies I like to watch over and over. If I buy the DVD, it's less expensive than buying theater tickets, in the long run.

Collecting dvd's is my hobby before but when I learned how to download movies in the internet Im collecting it and burn to a DVD-R 4.7gb in collection for 2-5 movies each. And then I put some CD sticker printed a 1x1 inch cover of each movie. Whats good for that is sometimes a sell a copy to my friends.

I have a small projector at home where I can use to setup an entertainment system for my friends and I think watching movies at home is better. Well, for me, security is more important.

@Dextoi No, In movie houses they use a digital cinema projector that placed at the upper back part of theater which is nice but if my seat is near there definitely my eyes will feel like wearing inappropriate eyeglasses. Also thats what I feel in ordinary projectors.

Watcing movies at a theater is a different experience, and I prefer it for certain movies. Perfect dark and a huge screen and you can really lose yourself in the film. At home there are too many interruptions. Phones ringing, people coming to the door, neighborhood noises, the children and/or pets constantly needing/wanting something. It might be more "fun" but not nearly as peaceful. Plus if you want to (legally) watch a film at the same time as the rest of the world and not wait for months after it opens to see it you have to go to theater. I do prefer however to be able to discuss a film with the people I'm seeing it with and you can't do that in a theater.

Somehow you can actually put the Movie theater in your home by buy a huge screen LED TV. 70 inches above is enough then plug it-in in a Home theater, put the speakers across the sides of the couch, cover up the lights by curtains for "perfect dark and you can really loose also yourself in the film" Lock the door for avoiding interruptions Max Out the volume and bass for extra suspense and satisfaction The only disadvantage is you can watch a blue-ray copy after a months of showing in theaters and tadaa! you will have your Mini Home Cinema

I have grown to prefer watching movies at home. No cost, can pause movie to use bathroom, no freezing air conditioning, no one kicking the back of the chair or getting up and walking by you.

Recently It was my second time to experience to watch a movie together with my family. Yea. most of them are busy at work and now it's summer we have done so many things just to get together once again. The first it was at home. we feel that it is also a comfortable and there's no need to waste of any money. while the second time was the opposite to the first one. but however i prefer to watch at home. at least there's no disturbance from other people. rather than at theater. when the movie was started and some people are standing around and look for a seat, and our heads keep moving side to side. hahaha. that's what i hate in theater.
