So much to learn about a new place!

Moving into this apartment building has been a learning experience in so many ways. I'm learning a lot when it comes to deliveries, especially!
Restaurants will deliver here and they will come right up to the apartment. That's a great thing.
The pharmacy that delivers my medications also comes to the building and right up to my door. Another great thing.
Mail is delivered to my mailbox on the first floor. Okay, I figured that. They have larger boxes for us for those times when we receive packages. A good thing. However, if we need package pickup (some of us don't have a car and can't get to the post office to ship packages), this building does not provide a place for us to leave packages for the mailman to take with him. That means that, once I get back into selling off all of my collectibles (and I have a LOT), I will have to pay for rides to the post office to ship them. This is a very bad thing. But, nothing I can do about it.
Right now I'm waiting for a delivery from amazon. According to tracking, it's out for delivery (by the post office who normally delivers around 1pm - it's now after 4pm). I'm assuming it will go into my mailbox downstairs, but who knows. Good thing is that they email me the progress, so I can keep checking to see if it's been delivered or not. That's a good thing. I won't grow old and grey sitting at my mailbox waiting.
I'm learning too much. My head is about to explode! lol

I haven't lived in an apartment for decades,. but I remember sitting and waiting for a package, scared if I wasn't there it would get stolen, we didn't have big mailboxes back then for packages.

@CRK109 If you don't leave a note or contact them they will just leave it in the hallway by your door for anyone to come along and take it. Just recently happened to my girlfriend.

We have two pharmacies in this area that deliver and I just love them so much! In the cold weather, the pharmacy will even deliver milk and juice along with medications, so if I run out of milk, I can just have the pharmacy bring some! I think our area has a lot of elderly and disabled people, so they try to make it easier for everyone.

Since moving to this place it is a pain at times to get pkgs from Amazon if they are shipped by to the post office..They take them to the office over here and it is a ways to go..there are lockers down here they could put them in, but Nooooooo. Make life difficult.
Oh dear that is going to be a big pain going to the poffice for you..cabs are not cheap here.

How far are you from a postal outlet? Maybe one the weather improves you can walk or take a bus.
