Headache! How To Relieve?

"Natural Cures Not Medicine” shared the above photo on their FB page. The clear caption caught my attention: “Headache Remedy, Eat 10 to 12 almonds, the equivalent of 2 aspirins, for a migraine headache”. My youngest sister and two friends always complain of migraine attacks so I might as well share this post to them. There is no harm in trying every possible natural remedy. Anyway if this will not be effective, eating almonds will not harm them either unless they have almond allergies. Do you have migraine attacks? What do you do to relieve the pain?

My husband has a serious headache problem from more than one year, there is nothing that helped until now. He eats almonds every day.

Yes. I take a natural supplement - Feverfew. If it isn't enough to get rid of it, I take Ibuprofen. Almonds is a good alternative. I like them very much and as soon as I have my dentures, I'll be able to eat them.

I love eating almonds too. The only problem is it is quite costly in our country.

I am fortunate as I rarely get that very bad migraine. I try to avoid all triggers as well. I have great compassion for this condition I know my Mother suffered greatly with this. I did not know about the natural healing of almonds for migraines.

I also am fortunate enough to have not experienced migraine. But sadly, my sister has this and indeed we have to discover what really triggers this on us so we could avoid.

It is worth a try - as you say, almonds won't do any harm unless you have a nut allergy. I don't get migraines, but I will take paracetomol for a headache.

I do also take paracetamol sometimes but in most cases vicks vaporup and head massage are sufficient enough,

@MarshaMusselman You've never heard of paracetamol? It's very common over here, does the same job as aspirin but it won't harm your stomach.

@jaboUK Nope, never heard of it. Over here we have aspirin and ibuprofen which can harm the stomach. Tylenol which is acetaminophen and that harms the liver I think.

I have to buy almonds. I am having headaches quite frequently these days and I suspect it has something to do with the lack of sleep and my menstrual cycle. I don't think it's a migraine headache it feels more like a tension headache but well almonds are delicious so I still want to try

Almond has lots of health benefits actually. If this nut is not quite expensive in our country, I would eat a lot of this everyday.

I had migraine ttack before (when I was still single) and I took Cafergot, or Avamigran, and Periactin-Vita. After I delivered my child, the migraine stopped. recently, I had migraine again but this is due to my visual acuity.

@salonga the Periactin Vita is now gone, my friend. It came in tablets and syrup and what was prescribed to me in Q8 was the syrup. The Avamigran and Cafergot were prescribed to me when was still in college by an internist here.

When I was in high school, I used to have migraine attacks leading to my constant vomitting. I used to take meds for migraine during that time but I can't recall the name of the med anymore.

I always take the isotonic drink when I have headache. I like 100 plus especially. Other isotonic drink will do but I think they are not as good as original 100 plus.

Most probable, if I have headache my blood pressure is high. I have maintenance tablet and I have normal blood pressure now. I have lesser dizziness too because my blood sugar is in my normal level. My HA suggests me to put cold compress on the top of my head like ice cap until the pain subsides. But I have a tablet prescribed by my doctor.
