How does this site work?

I learn from a blogger that this site is like a social media site, but I'm still confuse on how things are. Well obviously I'm a newbie in this site and I have a lots of question about the mechanics of this social media? Do I need to add someone to be able to read their post and be able to keep in touch with them just like in "Facebook"? or there is no such thing as sending a friend request? I like the idea of having other social media account aside from Facebook but I still don't get the hang of it. And I guess I will enjoy more in this site if someone out there can help me about this site. I don't have any friend who uses this site and It is not a known site in our place so sadly I don't have anyone to help me to understand this site. Thank you. :)

Welcome to the site. It helps if you follow some Lotters. Don't forget to interact with them.

No you dont have to add anyone to see their posts. All the posts are shown under the explore section (The one with the fire icon). But you can follow mylotters to see their posts and interaction separately. Im sure you have got a good idea on how to use mylot from JJ.

@JMAndres The dollar sign will show you earnings. The earnings get updated normally every hour.

yaps, I somehow understand how things work here, how to respond and find discussion. :) I really enjoy reading other discussion. But I'm still confuse on what does the "Dollar sign" in the top most right part mean? Do I need to pay just to continue using this site? sorry if the question really sounds stupid. :)

@JMAndres The dollar sign shows how much you have earned - it may take a little while for yours to show anything, but it will eventually. You don't have to pay anything to use this site.

This is great place for interaction , but is little different from FB in the sense, most of your friends in facebook are your known ones and here its exactly opposite.

yeah, I'm starting to realize that. Here I can write anything I want without worrying about what other people will think about me since they don't know me personally. :) It is a great site to be your true self and meet new friends. :)
