~That Is Disgusting!~

If you are weak in the stomach area you might not want to read this-especially if you just ate. This news story/crime happened in the town and state I used to live in. A man who is a three time felon kidnapped and assaulted a 19 year old girl/woman. He assaulted her for hours before getting drunk and falling asleep. While he was sleeping his victim was able to untie herself. She grabbed a knife-cut off his private parts, heated them in the microwave and made him eat them at gun point! If it was me in that situation, I would have called the police while he was sleeping. I would not have wanted to touch him at all-that is just me though. There are no charges being brought against her for her actions, and some are calling her a hero. What are your thoughts on this story? I don't usually share news stories but this one got my attention and it was so crazy! (The Link To This Story)

@LovingMyBabies After, I posted my above post, I did start thinking about the consuming of body parts and how it really is gross.

I would not do that (I think). But then, I have never been raped. And justice is often slow or looks at the other side. In my country, many rapists are not caught or get small sentences because some judges say that " the girl was asking for it" because of her clothes or because she wore too much make up.

It is not just there, Marguicha. Many people still have that mentality here as well. We are working to change this, and it is better than it was a few decades ago. Still, it often tends to be the victim on trial here rather than the rapist, so she is victimized again by our legal system, which is why so many rapes go unreported each year.

@marguicha What? They really think the girl asks for it there? That is awful! I have been raped and all I could think was get me out of here-and I ran the first chance I got to get out so I know I wouldn't have done what she did but it is good that he will never be able to hurt someone like that again.

That serves him right @LovingMyBabies . She'll never be able to forget what he did to her, but you know what? Neither will he. Justice was 'served' on a plate.

Well as a woman I think that nasty sucker probably deserved what he got. However I would have ran and called the police instead.

@fishtiger58 There is no doubt that he deserved to be treated that way. Most women would probably have run away and telephoned the police, but he would also have been fed and clothed in prison. At least this way he is not capable of committing such an offence ever again.

Off topic: Someone changed their username! On topic: Generally I am against violence of any kind. Yes it is advised to call the cops! But from where I come from, this is the most heinous crimes we are facing. The Delhi Nirbhaya case is known world wide. Our country's capital is fast approaching the status of Rape capital. Government is failing miserably controlling this crime. So, here this sort of thing would be hero-worshipped by some. Maybe then actual results would show up.

My information might be out of date, but I know there were several countries that blamed the woman if she "allowed" herself to be raped, and I though that India was one of these countries.

@Daljinder I just added my first name to it. =) It is an absolutely horrible crime to commit and going to prison isn't really a bad thing to most prisoners so I am not sure it teaches them much of anything really.

@purplealabaster Not out of date exactly... Yes there are terrible specimen who have this warped up mindsets. Rape victims are still hushed up in the name of protecting the reputaion of the girl. Money is exchanged between girl's family and rapists to hush up the matter. In some cases victim is married off to the rapist. Girl who is brave enough to go to the cops is bullied and ridiculed. By society. By cops. After long struggle when the case gets registered then it is dragging and whole new level of ridicule in the courts. It takes years. Our media is the worse. According to Indian laws, a victim's name, her identity is kept hidden. In no way, shape or form you are allowed to disclose it. Unless the victim herself does it. Or the family of the deceased rape victim do it. The case I mentioned in the response above shook the whole country. In this case the male friend accompanying the victim was blamed because he wasn't "man" enough to protect the girl. Gosh! That guy was overpowered by six men and beaten to a pulp. You see the mindset I am talking about? According to those rapists, the girl was of loose morals since she was out with a guy alone late in the night. SMH Such deseased thoughts. It was the most gruesome rape case ever. One of the rapists was a minor. Read the details of the case in this link and see why I said what I said in the response. Truly horrible in all ways!

That is really gruesome but she wanted to make sure he would not try that on her again. It is not what I would have done (at least I don't think so) but we never know what we might do under those same circumstances.

I think we all think we will act correctly if something like this should happen to us or ours. But, who is to say how we might react to such abuse. And, who is to say what should happen to this girl. It just depends on who is in control of the situation. The judge will let justice be handed out in the way in which he feels is correct. Each person is different. For some executing their own justice is something they need to do.

@celticeagle Your exactly right, she did what she needed to do in the situation. I am glad he will never be able to hurt someone else like that again because abuse in any form is awful. When something happened to me I ran and called the police, nothing else occurred to me at the time except for get out fast.

@Juliaacv It does take a lot of anger to do something like that. When something happened to me I was more scared at the time, the anger part didn't kick in until later.

It would be hard to judge unless we or our daughter were the one being assaulted for a long time it said. If she'd gone for the ride willingly, maybe she'd not reacted in that manner. I wouldn't put her into that same category as him. We will find out the true answer to your question at the return, or in the next life.

Like you, my first instinct would be to call the police. What this girl did isn't something that I would have thought of, or done, but I can understand her feeling of revenge, and doing this. I can't really criticize her too much for it. It is understandable to want some justice done and/or get some revenge.

I cannot say whether or not it was too extreme. I think that she probably did what she felt she needed to do at the time. It is not like she was stalking him and did it to get revenge for a past act - he put her in the situation, and she was reacting to it. I thought that we had the "three strikes you're out" policy here, though, so why was he even out of prison?

Sometimes brutality breeds brutality. What he did to her awakened her animalistic nature and forced her to do the worst to him. I hope she can recover emotionally from this trauma. I suspect it's going to take a long, long time.

Some people amaze me, there rapists an abusers dont ever thing we will fight back but now we are getting more gutsy as time goes on and we are not going to be taken advantage of. What she did to her attacker was unthinkable but she had every right to do what she did. People deal with pain in their own way and this is what obviously made her feel good or vindicated. I am not sure if I would have the stomach to do what she did, but good for her!!!

@Castlerock34 Yeah she definitely fought back! I would never think of doing this personally. I ran and called the police-I was scared and wanted to get away fast. She definitely dealt with this in her own unique way and I am sure it made her feel better about the situation. I know I could not have done what she did.
