Are Johnson and Johnson baby products harmful for babies?

Of late I have come across quite a few articles and posts on Facebook and other social media websites that Johnson and Johnson baby products contain chemicals that cause cancer. How far is this true? My best friend just had a baby and she uses their products for her little girl. I really wouldn't want her to get into harms way. Does anyone know about this? Is it true? If anyone has any kind of information please let me know!

My husband and I are wondering the same thing. When we were growing up, Johnson & Johnson were the only baby products we used. Was there any other company?? Now we hear about the products causing cancer. We used them on ourselves. We used them on our children. We don't know what to think! If the products are causing cancer now, somebody must have changed the manufacturing process. J&J used to be known as quality products.

@cxndie - Back in the day, no doubt the company owners took great pride in the business they were building and wanted their good business reputation to last for years to come. Sadly, sometimes when those who inherit and maybe even buy the business takeover, they misuse the company's goodwill, good name and reputation and try to cut costs so they can increase their profit. In the end, a scandal breaks out like this and they end up shooting themselves in the foot! All that hard work that they did not even do themselves, but was done by others to gain a place in the business world; they trashed it all by making bad business decisions. It happens!

Yes my parents used J&J on me and my brother too. With all the news going around that it is causing cancer It is only obvious that something has changed during manufacturing. It is sad though because this could hamper the sales and in turn the company. Why change something that was going so well and make it harmful for its users.

It's not just that brand. Anything we are using now can cause cancer with long term use.

Just because the gov't approves its use, it doesn't automatically follow that it's safe. Almost everything we use on our bodies and in our homes to keep clean contain a plethora of dangerous chemicals. The reason people think it's safe is because it takes so many years for problems to occur. People who work in the manufacture of these products have to wear special suits and masks during production, yet they say, "here, go ahead and splash this all over your home, and your bodies." You also have to be careful when something is labelled safe or natural, because these big companies are not above lying for the sake of a dollar

I have read that Formaldehyde has been detected in Johnson & Johnson products. Studies suggest it may cause cancer and it is in your baby's shampoo. The Johnson & Johnson's “Naturals” brand does not contain any cancer causing product. This is what I have read online as to the truth of this I have no idea.

I have to put my 2 cents in this! Johnson and Johnson products are extensively tested and monitored by the USDA and the FDA and they could never release a product that was harmful to humans it would be illegal and they could get in a lot of trouble. Nothing that has not been passed by the grueling inspection will not make it onto our shelves. I am part of the scientific community that makes sure products are safe for human consumption and use. Don't believe everything you read. Just because its on the internet doesnt mean its true
