Thank you to everyone who was concerned about my dental appointment today. I will interact with each of you personally but I wanted to make a post to say that I survived.
I had to have very large amounts of novocaine since I have extra nerves in my face. I was not feeling well when I got home and I laid down and slept for three hours!! I am up now and most of it has worn off after 7 hours.
I will get the new crown in 3 weeks. I will not need a root canal and I found out that I didn't on my other two crowns either, so I have never had a root canal. The dentist said lucky me!!
I had Stouffer's mac and cheese for supper. I can only eat soft food for a bit and I am not to chew on the side. I am going to MyLot for a couple hours now before I go to bed, my face still feels quite sore.
Thank you for all your good wishes and prayers. I am very grateful.

@BelleStarr So your family tree will be easy to follow once you trace back as far as the royal heritage.

lol I love it, maybe I will need to check my genealogy a little closer , though I am descended from several of the "Kings Daughters" who came to Canada as mail-order brides!! Thank you that is adorable.

@BelleStarr No, it's a pretty long processing and it's also painful.

I am feeling pretty good today, still a little sore and still tired which surprises e since they didn't give me anything to make me sleepy!!

@BelleStarr Having work like that done takes a lot out of your body so now your body is trying to restore itself and the only way it can do that is through sleep.

I have quite a few crowns and had at least one root canal. The one I remember didn't hurt as much as it does for most people, in fact I asked when it would start getting painful and they told me they were done. That was twenty years or more ago.

I think part of my problem is the extra nerves I have in my face. I had to have four shots to get me numb!!

@MarshaMusselman They said I have more nerves than normal people. I guess it is not unique but also not common. Most people have one nerve on each side, I have several extras.

@BelleStarr Have they said you have more nerves than most people, or just that you can feel the work being done more than most? I need shots too. Now my mom can have drilling done and just about anything without any novocaine. She always said it was a lot slower when she was young and they had to endure it without shots then, so she never bothered with that before.

I'm glad its over. You will feel better very soon... I hate being in a dentist chair, don't like one minute of them working in my mouth but i go twice a year...a glutton for punishment.

I do go for my cleaning and check up twice a year, this as you may know was an emergency and not something I would want to do any more often than necessary!! NO more praline for me!!

You are a lucky lady. I didn't know that you could have a crown and not have the root canal to go with it. You learn something every day!! :)

Yes if there is no infection and if the nerve is not compromised it isn't needed. I have now had 3.

Yes that is a big bonus from what I understand, it would have been much more expensive and involved if I had needed it.

@BelleStarr some folks' bodies seem to hang onto anesthesia longer'n others 'n i hope that portion (the tiredness) wears off soon. perhaps'n ice pack'd help with the swellin'? ice cream! ice cream'd fix't - don't it fix most all ailments? ;)
sendin' more healin' hugs, my friend!

lol Thank you Lany, that won't be for 3 weeks when the permanent crown is installed but I do like pasta so eating it for 3 weeks isn't too much of a hardship.
