Does Internet encourage democracy?

Does Internet encourage democracy or are we a hallucinating people.
To some it seems that it indeed does encourage democracy, but I don't see it that way. I think that with the pros comes the cons and not everything we see or hear are real. Just because its out there does not mean it is true. The media is basically bought by the governing government of whatever country and the news manipulated. Nothing out there is true or worth trusting. Even the modes on Vogue are all fake and Photoshoped.

Lots of things are fake for sure.
It can be hard to decipher in this world if the media is indeed reporting correctly.
Still people go on believing.
The internet can encourage us to be courteous to eachother but it is also a vile pool of hatred also..so sad. Not sure how democratic that is.

Yes I agree. Its brought people closer and at the same time broken bonds of friendship due to some really trivial issues. Other than that as you say haters are all over the internet. Need to keep our distance. cant afford negative energy and vibes.

@vhpsandi It is a good space here in this site vids free from the hatred. Have not seen any of that here.

@TiarasOceanView yes it is a close knit community of like minded people, so hatred had no place here. Thank God for that.
