When you post a discussion, to you talk about the same discussion with people off the site?

Normally when I post a discussion here, I like to have opinions from all of you , than people in my daily life. Sometimes it is better to get the opinion of people who don't know you. Yes, you know of me from this site, but you will give unbiased opinion , rather than tell me something you think I want to hear.
I find maybe one or two of my friends will be completely honest and respond to something I have to say , with good answers. Others will just agree with me, hold back on what they really want to say.
I think a site like this is great I can say what I want, and can share with you more than I might share with others outside of the site.

I keep this site all to myself, Lol. Sometimes if something is really funny I will discuss it with my husband, since he loves to laugh. Other than that though I keep it to myself.

Its a real blessing to me here Jelly. I agree with you that we can talk about some things here that we would not in real time with others we personally know to get a better grasp on the subject.
Here, others can give us an honest point of view in general usually without bias.

@CookieMonster46 totally in agreement with you. In fact I also find that through discussions I come up with other kinds of ideas as well.

I am the same, just from my experience, you can think you know someone and then they do something to totally shock you , so you never really knew them at all.

Sometimes it is easier to talk to strangers especially if you want to vent about something and don't want those near and dear you know about some things but want them off your chest.

@CookieMonster46 Writing things down helps me to calm down if I am feeling sad or angry. After sometime, the issues do not seem that serious.

Yes, that is a big part of it, sometimes I feel those around me do not listen very well. Example my mother she doesn't listen when we talk, she only has an interest in things she likes . My dad gets mad at her all the time about this and tells her she does not listen, so he doesn't bother talking with her. I wish she would take the time to listen to family , she is missing out on so much.

I am one of those people who can't "pretend" to be someone they are not. So, when it comes about giving opinions, I try to hold back at first if I think that it would hurt the feelings of my friends. But it doesn't work long for me. I suck at holding back things. I can keep a secret of others but I can't seem to hold back my honest thoughts. I get all weird when I even attempt to try that. LOL I had learned to say my honest thoughts in a nicer way. I had to.
That is also the reason I hate formalities like asking the person's well being just because you are suppossed to. Not out of genuine concern. That is why I open up with only those whom I genuinely care for or have started to care or even have developed an interest in knowing them.
With me "What you see is what you get"

It's great that you feel you have the freedom to be open and honest and not have to worry about what people think and that your more likely to get unbiased opinion like you said. If someone happens to say something you don't like you can just disregard it as theres no emotional connection.

@CookieMonster46 I personally try to be careful what I say as I know I have to give an account to God for every idle word I speak. I also try not to offend people or hurt people on purpose. But I'm not perfect and do blow it at times, thank God He is a forgiving God.

some folks fear repercussions from givin' their honest thoughts'n person, whereas online they feel the freedom to do such. if'n they don't agree with what's written, 'tis easier to let't go versus somebody sayin' 't to yer face. then 'gain, lots gets misconstrued online...

Yes, from here, you can get honest answers because there's no holding back or some form of restriction so as not to offend the person.
