A Red Squirrel?

Yesterday while my brother was out on the balcony, he said that he saw a squirrel that was almost the same color as Daisy. Daisy is reddish blonde, but more red than blonde. I have never seen any other color of squirrel besides the normal gray one. I tried to look it up on the internet and found out that there is one called an American Red Squirrel or Pine Squirrel. They are a little larger than a chipmunk so evidently they are smaller than the normal squirrel is. I know there are also squirrels that are black and albino squirrels that are white. Have you ever seen a red squirrel like the picture above? Or a squirrel that is a different color than the normal gray? We have quite a menagerie of animals here. We have a little partridge family that has taken up residence, as well as blue jays, cardinals, robins, finches, crows, hawks, vultures/buzzards, turkeys, squirrels and deer.

I have a dog like that who is very territorial. If we lived in a house, I'm sure she would run any critters away.

@simone10 He has a yard beeper system where he can only go so far or it beeps at him (no shock, just beep). He knows his area and just how far he can go, sometimes I think the deer do too. They love to torture him, they stand just on the edge of his area, where he cannot get to him, and just stand and look at him. kind of like "hahaha you can't get us!!" poor Bo

@mom210 It takes a lot of discipline for Bo to stay in his area and not chase after the deer.

@sofssu Yes, we moved here back in March. We originally moved from Vegas to Tennessee, from Tennessee to Arkansas and then Arkansas to Kentucky. Wow, that's a lot of moving.

It is beautiful here in Kentucky. I love sitting out on my patio in the mornings, listening to the birds while I drink my coffee.

This one is very pretty. I love that there is wildlife where I live, and enjoy seeing them. I don't interact with them, however. I don't want their fleas or diseases.

I don't interact with them either for the same reason you do. I just enjoy watching them in their natural habitat.

I think I used to see red squirrels as a kid, but lately all I've seen are the grey squirrels. That sounds like a lot of animals to get to see around there.
