Spike is depressed.

My GSD, Spike gets attached to visitors too quickly and when they leave, he gets depressed for at least 3 days. My sister was here for a week and she left yesterday, since then Spike is so sad. I don't know what to do with him. Nothing can cheer him up. Is there any trick you guys use to cheer up a depressed pet.
