This morning, at just after seven I heard my phone ring.
Normally this is early to get a phone call but I saw it was my youngest daughter so was immediately concerned.
What's up?
She said, Mom I'm shaking.
Me, Why?
Her answer, you know the radio contest Ricks Rapid Fire? (A contest where you must successfully answer 10 trivia questions in 60 seconds or less. You win $20. For each correct answer, or $1,000.00 if all you answers are correct.)
She had 10 correct answers, and heard those words, Congratualtions you just won one thousand dollars.
Maybe she'll take me shopping?

This was through our local radio station 105.6 EZ Rock. The morning show runs this contest every morning. Most people win between $20- $180.00, she won the big prize $1,000. For giving 10 correct answers in 60 seconds.

I'm sure that she will share at least a little bit of this windfall. She has been talking about a new carpet for her living room. I bet she goes shopping for that soon.

All of my children are smart. She has a really good head for trivia. This is one reason she is so good at her job of librarian.

@Dextoi She will be picking up the cheque later this week. Then, she will be deciding how to spend it. I think it will be set aside for her new sofa and carpet. Either that or the landscaping that needs to be done to repair her retaining wall.

I am very excited for her. She has a few things on her wish list. A year ago she purchased her first home and I know there are a few things whe has been putting off because it wasn't in her budget. This windfall might make at least one or two things possible.
