exactly once your over 35 its 10% chance of finding a job . but they want all these young people but at the same time the older people are going to have more experience and are going to do the job better.

@teteakaresa Often it seems that they know that more experienced people are likely to need more pay. It is not taken into consideration that if you have a more experienced person you spend less to train them. However, if you get an inexperienced worker you train them in your patterns.

I understand that there are many parts of the country where the opportunities are limited. The other problem is whether or not you have the skills. I hope you find what you need soon.

It depends on the field and how much you want the job. Judging by your other posts you are a mother with kids and very vocal about this. Most jobs will not cater to you, nor will they care if you have kids. You want the job then you work. I have been the hiring manager in the past,I find those with kids are the least experienced, and least reliable. They constantly call in sick, not doing the job properly, and can't handle it. I would hire them for a position that does not depend on them because of it.

I know what the posters on the break room wall say about "this company does not discriminate based on age, gender, etc." but that's a crock. I send resumes out with my military service on them and never get a call. I don't mention my military service and my phone rings off the hook. There's plenty of discrimination still going on out there, and the reason is because it's absolutely impossible to prove.
May I suggest that you try working with a temp agency? I backed into two jobs thanks to work in a temp agency, one of which (medical transcriptionist) I had no "experience" in doing. Good luck.

I don't know what is up these days. My daughter is going through the same thing. Makes you wonder if there is any use to going to university these days? She has a geology degree and can't find a job where she could live on what she is paid!

it is just crazy these days no one can ever find a job no matter how hard they try and even when they do they still barely even make enough to live happily.
