MyLotters–Bragging or Just Excited?

I have read discussions about how people hate reading about how much someone has earned on myLot and I felt the same distastefulness as the authors did. I don’t like reading these “this is how much I earned” discussions either.
Then the other day I thought maybe not everyone who post one of these “this is what I earned” discussion is bragging. Maybe, just maybe, some of these people are just excited about earning what they did. So excited they felt the need to tell all the other myLotters about their excitement. Not by pumping their chests out and saying, “Look how much more than you I’ve earned,” but more like, “Wow, I can’t believe I earned this much in this amount of time.”
Granted, none of us are going to become millionaires off of what we earn on myLot, but to some a little extra income could be quite exciting.
I have only been on myLot for six months and in that time I, personally, have only read maybe two discussion where someone has mentioned the amount they have earned from myLot. But I have read more than double that many discussions about how upsetting it is to read discussions on how much someone has earned.
I have learned, in my life, that not everything is as it seems. Someone, who English is a second language, may write what, to them, sounds like they are sharing their excitement. But to us, who have used the English language all our lives, it may come across as bragging.
After saying all this, I still don’t like reading discussions about how much someone has earned from myLot. This is just a different way of looking at it. I see no problem with someone saying myLot paid out what they promised and within the time they promised, but it’s really not necessary to mention how much it was.
What do you other myLotters think? Do you think all of the discussion that mention how much someone earned is bragging or do you think it might just be someone who is excited about their earnings?

No I dont think every discussion made about earnings is bragging, I think it is as you say excitement.
And also sometimes yes some English as a second language could be it too. And perhaps not reading the guidelines and TOS and so on.
Still like you, I have no interest in reading them too Richard.

I guess it could go either way. I don't read them. I thought it was against TOS to write them.

I have heard it is against the TOS, but I have read a couple. I haven't written any of them (and have no plans to) but it probably wouldn't hurt to re-read the TOS to see. There is so much information to remember in the TOS that it wouldn't hurt any of us to re-read them occasionally.

@RichardMeister I'm sure it would benefit us greatly, as we can't remember everything.

I can understand people being excited about it.

It does get tiresome seeing post after post about earnings and how to earn money but I just skip them as I do other subjects of no interest.

I have been skipping over those discussions. The only time I will respond is if there is more to the discussion than how much they have earned. I really don't give a burly rats behind what anyone earns.
Just give me a discussion to which I can respond with something more than, "wow, that's great!"

I think there are a lot of people here still wondering if it is still possible to actually make money so sometimes I think they are trying to be informative. When I see the numbers (I made X today), to me I get, "You can do it if you just contribute more".
I think these kinds of discussions can be interpreted in different ways and will be by different people depending on what they need to hear. I don't necessarily like the discussions either, but sometimes they can give me a kick in the butt, or tell myself to stop complaining because you're not going to earn the money if you don't put in the time and effort.

This could be true. What I was trying to point out was that just because we may think of these type of discussion as negative, the person who wrote it may not intended it to be. So you make a good point.

It doesn't bother me either way. Maybe they are just excited.

I used to think these people were just bragging and that was what I didn't like about that type of post. Then one day it hit me that they may not be bragging but just excited.I guess I just never liked when people brag because it's like they are saying, "I'm better than everyone else."

We're not going to be millionaires?
Maybe it's a little of both? Personally, I think it's none of my business how much someone makes here - I don't need to know the amount. It serves no purpose. Everyone goes at their own pace and makes "something" I'm sure - but I don't care to know the numbers.
Actually, I've often thought that people who do write those posts about how much they made must have had nothing else to write about .

I agree with about it being no one else's business. You could also be right about people not having anything else to write about.

I am glad MyLot exists. Meeting new people and posting whatever and building great friendships here. I know we all brag about our earnings but it also keeps us motivated. Love it. Great post.

For a newbie like me, yes it is somehow interesting to see posts that this pay thing is for real. Specially that its just a petty amount, not something that is too good to be true. But for long time mylotters here, i understand it must be annoying to some extent.

I don't consider myself a "long time myLotter" but simply telling you were paid out on time is enough for me to know myLot isn't jerking us around. How much is really no concern to me. And, yes, I've been paid when and for the amount it says I should be paid.
