to be sincere i was a bit dissapointed..because ther has been so much publicity about it that i was expecting something extrordinary...in fact it was nothing like that..i found it a bit boring because the story went so slow..i think the director underlined too much the small details and made some things longer than they should have been..i don't know,i have seen many movies better than that...the one thing that i really liked was at the end, when a big tear came down from the sky and splashed on the ground..i liked the special effects on it and the way it was thought..because it felt so real

The film was very well done, the acting excellent. As for the graphic nature, history tells us the treatment was about standard for the time.
Man's inhumanity to man has always been there and this documented it without embellishment.
In history there are several documents depicting the injuries afflicted upon others, in loving detail. Torture and disemberment.
Even yet today such things are happening, caning, disemberment in Moslem countries...for example.
The film didn't pretty up what was common at the time.
