Where I live (aproximately 40 miles from Belfast), yesterday was a cold but bright and sunny day. While it wasn't warm enough to be out and about sunbathing, it was a nice day and was nice to get a change from the normal rain.
However, I saw on Facebook that it was snowing and hailstones in Belfast. While I thought this weird, my friend confirmed this and I also saw photos showing what the weather was like.
While the weather can differ from place to place, I haven't seen quite extreme differences in what weather is like for quite some time - especially not in spring time when you don't really expect snow.

The weather has been strange for a long time now. It will be nice to see it return to something a lot more normal.

I traveled a few hours south of Canada yesterday to go to a craft show - and outside show for spring. When i got there it was snowing and the snow was deep and the show was canceled. I was not expecting to see snow had no boots with me, no gloves. My friend who traveled with me enjoyed our day with some old friends and fun shopping too...

There is sometimes a huge difference in weather conditions within a small range. Glad you didn't get any snow.
